Unless Maulfan has video of WB/Legendary executives having intimate relationships with farm animals I just don’t see why they would ever again make another Kaiju movie and that includes not releasing GvK theatrically and instead dumping it on Netflix.

Just got back from seeing this. How to describe this film's quality? I think Charles Dance put it best:

'The catering was sensational '.jpg

The should have included The Hulk in the final battle. :chase

During the underwater part where they went to give Godzilla his nuclear "upper", I was thinking they should have thrown Jason Statham and his Megalodon into the mix too. The story was so ridiculously bad up to that point, it couldn't have hurt. :lol

This is an ugly hot mess of a movie, never thought I'd like Edwards bore fest over this but I do.

Ok, I just saw it. I liked it, for the most part.

!!!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!!

Seriously, some spoilers, don't read if you haven't seen it

Ok.... you've been warned....

I think the phrase "Too much, but not enough", really sums it up.

I felt like it was too long, some parts really dragged. The (human) story just didn't do much for me. And what's with Vera Fermiga's discount Thanos? How many people died because of her? Can't shake the feeling that something was missing from the human story.

When it shines, it really shines, the CGI is truly something to behold, when you can see it. The problem is, during the fight scenes, often times there are things set to intentionally obscure your view, weird angles that just didn't work for me, and odd editing choices that sometimes make the fighting difficult to follow. I found much of the fight scenes irritating. But when they worked, they were very good. But this is a Godzilla movie, and I'd argue there is much hanging on the fight scenes, and I'd expect them all to be excellent, not hit and miss.

I thought the "underground" portion quite interesting, is this something that was a part of G'zilla lore before?

Were all the titans part of the mythology before? I never saw the mammoth or spider before this movie.

I'd give it 6.5/10

This score could improve if I see it again, I know my expectations were very high.

Also, don't bother with 3D. The 3D was practically nonexistant.

All the monsters besides Mothra, Ghidorah, and Rodan are brand new creations for this movie. Toho wouldn't let them use other Toho monsters.

Great. So I guess Godzilla is through when it comes to American cinema. Nice. Guess we will get nothing but remakes of Disney classics and marvel from here on out at the movies.

Well rush you hit the nail on the head regarding cutting away from the fights or blocking the view of the fights.

Even everyone who loved it complained about that particular problem which is weird because that’s what 14 suffered from!

This is why we need to start a petition for an extended “Battle Cut”.

But after that box office we can just forget about getting an extended cut so please disregard my petition idea lol

Uh.... Yep.

(And not yep that Maulfan has video of intimate execs + farm animals)

I'm very critical of it, I know, but it was better than Godzilla 14.

Honestly I was having so much fun with it that the human characters didn’t bug me.

TOHO movies human characters are about 1,000,000 x worse...Final Wars ughhhhh.

200 million dollar Burning Godzilla, KG, Rodan, Mothra, Super X, how did that happen!

I’m being very forgiving of this movie.

I liked it quite a bit.
