The new design is a little more visceral and the dorsal plates look a little more wild and unhinged. They have more of a coral look to them, which is pretty cool. The two designs are extremely similar though.

Here's the full body of the ride model, there are differences between the two, but the film version is an obvious evolution of the design.

For me the film and unusual Godzilla powers soured me on Shin.
