It will probably look better than any other statue out as well, I never felt he had been done justice yet.

As much as i like the SSW Smeagol and Gollum statues, they were still special DVD items, albeit thankfully in scale with the rest of the statue line, but they didn't have matching black bases. The new Weta Gollum statue does have a black base and looks good, but is a special, smaller one off. I'm hoping Weta do a fantastic version if and when they do The Hobbit statues.

I don't think there will be an exclusive, same as Frodo and Galadriel, unless it's a change of fish. If that is the case it's going to need a high E.S. to allow for people buying 2 so that both personas can be displayed.
So this could be the first 'big' edition size and hopefully cheapest PF

I guess it could be that there is no exlcusive, but I thought that the extra torso and head would be the exclusive, and the regular would only be the villainous persona of Gollum. Mr. Thrifty has a point though, that the lack of an swappable name plate would be a little disappointing. I wonder if the pose is designed to feature Gollum from one direction, and Smeagol from another, with a nameplate on either side of the base.

Starting at the 2:31 point of the LOTR Comic Con panel, Joe Allard, Design and Development, explicitly states that the exclusive is a switchout upper torso.

Thanks for the link. I had seen that but took it as a reference to swap out features in general , not as an exclusive for Gollum. I'm still hoping that it's a regular for the 2 figures but either way, I will be getting Slinker and Stinker

SS confirmed that Gollum comes first them comes Orc, then comes some gollum/orc crossbreed in a baby carriage.

Still no LOTR love in the newsletter, so it would be most likely that Gollum will pre-order sometime during spooktacular.

I wish they would update the Q&A sometime soon too!

Just checked my e-mail to find an update from Sideshow regarding the availability of Sale Items for Lord of the Rings Merch now that the Hobbit is in production. The best part is, the bottom of the message states that a new LOTR collectible will be debuting during Spooktacular. Gollum is the easy favorite, as he is a major character in both films!
