So the show is almost over for another year. I have to say that the show has been good this year but not great. The lack of new Marvel product from Sideshow has been the biggest disappointment. It is the “Comic Con” after all and it seems that the Marvel licence has taken a back seat this year. Much of the product shown at this year’s show had already been previously announced. The new products shown which included the Iron Spider-man (nice), Ghost Rider (nice but come on three Ghost Rider maquettes) and the Thing LSB was underwhelming.

I just hope that the rest of 2008 is not as disappointing as this year’s “Comic Con”.

I'm happy I was able to PO a kick butt Spidey comiquette. Though my fingers are crossed we get a new Hulk item soon.

Not sure if it was marvel related but staff in the chat did say that items just missed sdcc cause they just weren't ready to display yet, so there might be new stuff previewed sooner than we think

They were able preview the 300 PF. Even conceptual artwork would have been nice.

This year was Very Good... minus the lack of 1/6th LOTR.

As far as the Marvel Line... all year long SS has Put out an AMAZING amount of Marvel Peices... I for one was glad the other lines (minus LOTR) got some attention.

and to be fair......a lot of marvel stuff was previewed just before sdcc, technically they could have withheld that until sdcc

Maybe I would have felt better lol. I was actually saying that my my mate that the should have held off revealing Mystique until SDCC.

I'm a little peeved that they were teasing HULK stuff in chat as if something was going to be revealed and nothing. For Comic Cons, the Marvel license should have a more prominent setting and really take the cornerstone but I'm happy with what we got despite the quantity.

This is my feeling also. You have the leading artists working for both Marvel and DC (also independent comics) at the show. It should be more about comics and less about movies.

I will admit that I'm disappointed with SS at SDCC, personally I was hoping to see a Daredevil Dio or PF. That said I've preordered the Iron Spidey Exclusive, HT Iron Man, Pred 2 Dio and the Rocketeer Bust.

Depending on finances I might cancel the Pred dio, Rocketeer and as for Iron SPidey, I find I dont like a lot of pieces until I see backstage passes (Blade & Lara Croft being perfect examples) etc and end up regretting that I didn't get them at the initial time of order, hopefully he'll grow more on me when we get a better look. :)

I thought the best shots of him were on the G4 video with Scott Klauder.

for me it was great. but it really depends on your interests. i love the SW OT and they had tons of stuff plus some marvel stuff plus Darkness, plus some Street fighter stuff plus some Dead stuff....man now that I think about it, i think it was an OUTSTANDING showing by SS....for my interests anyway.

but as far as Marvel....I think i agree it was good....although if they held off on Mystique for SDCC that would be three 1/4 scale statues plus the Thing bust. i guess it boils down to what characters you're a fan of.

I thought it was pretty good! Granted I haven't had too many SSCC experiences, but I thought the items released were great :)

Theres no question that the items released were good. But the thread is about the lack of Marvel related pieces when you consider that this is a comic convention.

I thought it was a good year for comic con. Sideshow had the new 12" Vader and Stormtroopers on display (got those on preorder now) and saw the new 12" Hot Toys Iron Man (future preorder).

However, I was a bit disappointed in the proto for the 1/1 Iron Man movie bust. I really hope they change the collar and chest bolts to machined alluminum but I guess we'll see...

Uh oh..... This is the first bad review I've heard of the Iron Man 1:1 bust :sick... What material were they made of? I just changed my order to a Flex pay since I was almost POSITIVE I wanted this....
