Good but not great.

Yeah, I thought for sure there would be a new Marvel Dio and Hulk movie related product shown. I'm not interested in any of the Marvel stuff shown this year. ...but overall I'm not dissapointed. Out of all the stuff previewed, I know I'm going with Conan/Leonidas PF's, a Predator dio, and possibly Vader/Stormtrooper 1/6'ers - that's quite a bit for me from one show!

My wallet can use a break until the next time something goes up (and I wouldn't be surprised if we get some other Marvel goodies sooner than later)! :lol

Uh oh..... This is the first bad review I've heard of the Iron Man 1:1 bust :sick... What material were they made of? I just changed my order to a Flex pay since I was almost POSITIVE I wanted this....

Honestly, it looks bad ass. Comparing it to the screen used prop Hasbro had on display, it was near identical (Although I hope the improve the paint job on the final).

However, the lack of machined aluminum or metal type parts for the collar straps and the chest bolts on the proto had me suspicious. I hope they change that for the final model. I loved the movie and the suit so much that I HAVE to have this.

Fifty new items in total. They didn't even have room to display things that are just a little bit older. Almost everything out was either a new announcement or from the last 6 months.

I'm sure there were a lot of people that wished that they'd seen more from their favorite license. Heck, only Vader, Stormtroopers and one measly PF for Star Wars? That's so lame!

See, you can do it for just about any license...

SW was the huge winner at comic con.

1/6 Vader
1/6 Stormtrooper
1/6 Rebel fleet trooper
1/6 Han Solo
Raider PF
Grevious 1:1

SW cleaned up at comic con.

That in all reality doesn't make any sense. I realize what Comic Con has become, a large exhibitor show of everything coming out in the near future but ^^^^^ing about not enough Star Wars releases and annoucements at Comic Con is like ^^^^^ing that there aren't enough Marvel releases at Celebration III. The show is a Comic Con, there should be a heavy handed Comic Book offering from all companies there even though that is not what the show has become, given all of that I don't see how anyone could honestly begrudge a Comic fan for being disappointed that there wasn't enough Comic Stuff at a Comic Show.

Man I am quoting you for the truth again.

Marvel should be the # 1 priority on everybodys list...:monkey1

Marvel got lots of stuff revealed by SS at SDCC this year...it was just all boring...

So the show is almost over for another year. I have to say that the show has been good this year but not great. The lack of new Marvel product from Sideshow has been the biggest disappointment. It is the “Comic Con” after all and it seems that the Marvel licence has taken a back seat this year. Much of the product shown at this year’s show had already been previously announced. The new products shown which included the Iron Spider-man (nice), Ghost Rider (nice but come on three Ghost Rider maquettes) and the Thing LSB was underwhelming.

I just hope that the rest of 2008 is not as disappointing as this year’s “Comic Con”.

Hmmm... At one of the very first Comic Cons they showed slides in the hotel basement previewing an upcoming movie-- That little movie was called Star Wars. Makes sense that this convention continue to promote Sci Fi as much as superheroes, doesn't it?

I agree that it has become more than about comics. The good side to this is that comics properties are taken a bit more seriously. Not comics themselves but the properties so they can make movies and make money. It's like video games. That industry all of the sudden has exploded into the "not just for kids anymore" category. Being a "nerd" is now cool. Like most things that too may pass.

If you are a comics lover reminiscing about the good old days then you are going to have a hard time with most upcoming Comic Cons. I don't think things are going to change anytime soon.

Actually that's completely wrong. It's a "comics" show in name only and has very little to do with comic books now. It's a full multi-media show and the biggest showcase for Sideshow. Saying they should have more Marvel than anything else at SDCC is like saying that videogame companies shouldn't be allowed to have booths there.

Just like you said Dave. "NOW". The show is a Comic Book Convention and whether SSC decides to use this as their biggest showcase or not is irrelevant. I have it amazing that people are shocked that people are expecting that anyone attending SDCC focus on Comic Book properties but hey what do I know.
