I know this is not a new topic by any means, but I bought an Exclusive Grievous from Oxbeard and it just blows me away. I bought 5 monsters from him previously and they are all impressive, but this piece is a show stopper! I'd post pics, but there's dozens of 'em floating around here by now. The size and impressive stance of this one makes it a focal point anywhere. Congrats to SS for hitting a big homerun with me, and thanks Oxbeard for continued fine service.

Congrats! Grievous is one of my favorite pieces. And please post pics...I never get tired of seeing new ones.

Very cool of Oxbeard. :rock

You made a great choice with Grievous--that piece has quite a lot of presence. It is one of my favorite Sideshow creations. Even if you don't like the character from the movie, you can still appreciate the complexity and quality of the statue. And he's huge! Be glad that you have the cape--it really adds a lot to the piece and gives it a mixed media feel that would otherwise be lacking.

Congratulations !
Yes the GRIEVOUS PF Exclusive is one of the best PF yet.
When i saw mine for the time i was amazed : The cape brings real power and force to the caracter, the four light sabers are cool, the pose is great.
One of my favorite piece in my collection.
Great choice ! Enjoy !

Congrats! I love my PF Excl. GG.....it's a dazzling work of art! It really has a commanding presence and it would leave anyone looking at it for the first time, in awe!

I agree that the cape is a must. It gives the statue a real regal look. I am sure you would have tons of fun staring at this masterpiece for hours!

Enjoy!:chew :chew

Glad you like him. And Tom is right, the cape adds so much to this piece.

Glad all of these pieces have found a good home!!!!

i keep saying I'm getting him and then something comes up and I put it off. Next good price and I think I'm going to bite the bullet...problem is I am worried about him being shipped from somewhere other than SS, you know the chance of him being damaged.

Congrats on the piece!!

Congrats on the piece!!
I would put your name on the waitlist, he will probably convert for the exclusive. BTW the exclusive is the only way to go. I got one back in October I think off the list.

I'd put myself on the WL in a heartbeat, but a conversion would mean having to pay half my monthly salary in one go. (Well, that's a good salary, where I live.) If Sideshow had the waitlist up for a Flexpay option, I'd line up for it in a heartbeat -- just like I did with Fett.

I'm not stingy, it's just the way it is. Grievous and Fett are two PFs that are just about perfect, and I do intend to get them eventually. Of the others, I got the Leia Exclusive the other day, and couldn't be happier with her -- and I plan on getting the Dagobah piece. The others I never seriously considered.

Grievous, though, is very much the SW PF version of the SS/W Daddy Balrog for me. You know, as in, "Some day, when I'm very rich..."

...if that ever happens.

What are you doing reading the forum? Shouldn't you be translating?!!! :rotfl

I just wonder in a few years if this line will be like those older Sideshow Weta pieces, $2000 for a Balrog and Cavetroll will Vader and Grievous, or Leia be overly priced once all of the stock has been sold from retailers and Sideshow and the only way to get them is ebay.

I don't think the SW PFs are likely to go down -- their edition sizes are low enough for them to be coveted among the collectors for years to come. Now, it still depends on a few factors -- the future of this line (it was a three-year deal in the summer of '04, so I hope it's continuing), the future of SW (there's those new TV series coming up, so it's probably not going to fade from memory), and the general trending of the collectibles market. If the upmarket stuff continues to be well-received, then something as good and as iconic as SW PFs should be in high demand indeed.

(And LC, eheh, actually, I finished everything that goes into the book, including the Index -- and no, it's not actually called the Index this time -- and am now waiting for my publisher to send me PDFs of Silm, LOTR and UT, so the new translation fits the existing ones... Tough work, but I'm not complaining.)

That is what they said but I think they can extend the license with Lucasfilm. Now for the 12" line they just have to get Hasbros to extend the license. I wonder if anyone in Sideshow knows if they have been any talk of extending the licenses I sure hope we will get about another decade of releases from both lines. That would give me about 35 PF and 150 12" figures. I could make one awesome display with all of them.

Well I certainly hope all licences get extended! Perhaps that's something we can ask the SS people in an upcoming chat.

Although, 35 PFs -- I could almost buy my own ship for that.

I actually made a list of all of the ones I wanted and it came out to just about that. And besides thats only about 12,000.:D

Man if I do get that many I will have to take out an insurance policy.

And I dont even want to think about the amount the Cases for collectibles would get out of me.

For $12,000, I can definitely get something seaworthy that will house my entire family.

And I'd install a clean room in the house, not just a bunch of acrylic cases. Safe is safe!
