If we're talking SW PF's, the best likeness (for unarmored chars) IMO is the Obi Wan PF.

I hope that's true. Mine arrives Tuesday. :chew :chew :chew

I've been meaning to do the same thing myself. Gentle Giant has some of the best 1/6 headsculpts around.

as for my 1:6 custom Luke, I'll try to provide some better pics (my camera isn't the best & I suck at photography)

Here's a bit of info on it...

-The head is a GG sculpt I painted, of course
-The boots are bulky Hasbro boots that I intend to replace soon!
-I made the leather belt using Sideshow's Abe Sapien's belt as the main piece
-the body is BBI

As for the PF Luke likeness, I think the paint aps may be throwing it off a little too. To me it seems the eyebrows are painted a bit too bushy or too heavy maybe. I think that it is still an excellent sculpt. I'll bet Figuremaster Les could repaint one & floor us all with it.

It's easy to find faults on even the best of sculpts, for instance I own the GG Luke & GG Leia sculpts & I think they are great sculpts but the noses are kinda long and exaggarated(sp?). Mark Hamill has always been a tough likeness to really nail and please all fans, but I like the PF Luke & The GG Luke sculpts for different reasons & think they both work well.

as for the other SW PF figures (which I've only seen in pics), Obi Wan does look amazing. I'm a huge Boba fan, so the Boba looks good to me (even though in the pics I've seen the helmet looks off). Vader looks good too (I'd love to see a Vader in a different pose later, a PR ROTJ full-reveal Vader would be KILLER). The Han seems to possibly suffer from the same thing as the Luke with the paint aps, is that the case?

Congrats on getting one of the definitive representations of a SW character in statue form. Nothing else even comes close SS SW PF's.

I think those two are at the bottom of the list and the rest are all amazing. Probably why those are the only two I don't own

I'm not buying another PF until ROTS Obi is available, because my wife would kill me, but I see how people get addicted to them.

Obi's a great PF and I'm glad you are enjoying him pickard!!! I love all of the Star Wars PF's that Sideshow has been putting out. Regardless, if one is better than another for comparison sake, they are the definitive versions of each character represented and in terms of quality, I'm proud to have the majority of these guys in my display case!

It was just a year ago that I received my first PF (Darth Vader). He was the only one I really wanted. I had put myself on the wait list for Obi-Wan before Vader arrived, but I wasn't really sure I wanted him. But just a few days after getting Vader, I realized that he was "incomplete" without Ben to bring balance to the force . And lo and behold, my wait list converted and I had him.

From then on, it was just a slippery slope of one PF after another. 18 PFs later, I am a lost cause. But an ecstatically happy lost cause.

18 PF's?? wow! I thought I had something with my 12 LOL. I don't collect any horror or monsters though.
