GTA IV really split it's fan base. Some loved it and some hated it. I loved it, but I saw a lot of hatin going on when it came out. I went back to it not long ago and couldn't play it. It felt so clunky and unwieldy after playing Red Dead. I'm hoping GTA V uses a version of the Red Dead engine which was a modified GTA IV Euphoria engine. It seems like a safe bet.

I still play GTA IV online. It's awesome. Agree some of the controls can be clunky though.

Rockstar perfected the movement with max Payne, definitely a step up from rdr, and i agree it is hard to go back to gta after playing those games. I was unable to finish the dlc pack for gta iv due to the crap movement on and offroad.

Having said that gta iv was amazing, when I first played it.

Well the superman mod for Just Cause 2 was also awesome but this seems way more complicated to develop.

It's not much but the editor for Gameinformer just confirmed that the December cover will be GTAV so we will probably start seeing information pop up around the 1st week of November.
