And the price includes the extra head that customers aren't getting, so how does that make sense? I'm not buying it since there are numerous better options, but why not want the extra head if you're paying for it anyway.

Give this man a prize. As a matter of fact, I will pay to get you head, just send me the bill. Wink.

Yes, I agree, the classic portrait would have been the logical way to go for both SS and collectors. Since they did not choose the obvious route, I still wanted the intended ex head, goggled and all, as Igo forecast. I mean it's better than nothing at all, and let's face it, it would have been the most unique take on Goblin ever, though not comic accurate. Really curious to see how a great, creative company re-invisioned an iconic character. And find it a pity that they caved to public outcry, rather than follow through with their artistic intent.

As for the goggles themselves(?), I kinda got used to them, and don' t bother me. I own the Rhino comi, and display him with the eared modern version, even though I grew up with the classic portrait. The eared Rhino portrait just looks way more menacing, and I like my baddies looking mean, which this Goblin rendition certainly projects, goggles and all. Besides, Igo did say that if we dug/accept the goggles take, we would love the ex portrait, but now nothing, and that's better?

P.S. Don't forget people, that these are creative/artistic interpretations of fictional, comic characters, nothing more. So chill.

I completely understand that you would have liked for SSC to offer the original goggled version as they intended. They could have done it. For the price they are charging for this piece, I do think 2 portraits could have been offered. I do personally believe SSC dropped the ball when they offered this without an EX. A swap out portrait was a no-brainer for this piece. One classic portrait and one goggled would have been ideal for this PF.

Knowing the blow back this has received, why wouldn't SS offer a separate package with alt heads (like Prime 1 did with the AK bats busts)? It can be released later and include a classic head and a goggles down head. Collectors would be happy and have the choice to purchase or not.. Assuming the head is even detachable. I dunno..

I've said it before, and I'll say it again; any and all companies should ALWAYS include a classic portrait, along with a creative take (if they decide to go that route), as this would render any ill feelings by collectors mute. A simply winning solution, catering to the majority of collectors, and also allowing companies to explore/expand their creative chops. Of course this formula won't always be applicable, considering costume design and era accuracy, but should cover most character renditions. And if an iconic character should warrant two classic portraits, then a third 'creative take portrait' should possibly be considered, again, if said company chooses to go that route.

Hoping Sideshow has learned the lesson, especially after so many collectors where waiting for this iconic character for years, only to regrettably realize that no ICONIC portrait would be included!!!??? That decision borders on insanity, or at the very least, a very bad creative/design/business strategy.

But honestly, after all this, I really still dig this statue. Go figure. Hoping for plenty of clear/slow, pics/vids from the Con, as I await the arrival of this wickedly sculpted Goblin, which I still feel is the best offered so far, goggles and all.

A noble thought King, but here's the thing. Even if SS released future alt heads, we would still have to pay for them, raising the overall price for this PF into the $620.00-$720.00 price range(?). It was already overpriced to begin with, so no, it ain't the way to go, for both SS and collectors. What Sideshow could/should have done was go all out and sculpt a classic portrait to right the obvious blunder. And yes, they had plenty of time to do so, but simply chose not to. Or at the very least, have the conviction to honor their creative vision, and release the initially planned goggled ex head.

AWWW YEEEAAH got lucky with the 10% discount code and pre ordered it at last. $52 off, that's big. So glad I finally have this and don't have to worry about missing it. I gotta have all the big villains and to me that's Thanos, Doom, Red Skull, Goblin and MAGNETO if he's ever coming!

What was the code? Also is there an ex for this?

I as well used the 10% code that popped up for this. That was the only way I was gonna PO this.

If you don't mind me asking could you tell me what that code was ? Thank you

I used UPSMATT0QTZ0FB

I am sure that code won't work anymore. You probably need to have a pop up come up to get the 10%

Dug up from the bowels of the forums, for the anticipation, and lest we forget. Hoping SS shows it at NY Con, along with possibly the Venom PF? Can't wait for this Spidey rogue line to start rolling full gear, and Doc Ock is around the corner, before pricing is totally out of hand.:impatient:

Does Sideshow usually show things at NYCC? I was there in 2012 and they didn't have anything. And I don't remember seeing post in the years following about new stuff either.

Not really sure, but I believe one of SS sculptors mentioned that works which were not ready to showcase at SDCC would be shown in NY(?). Hoping I heard that right.

I think Sideshow started displaying their merch at the NY CON about 2 years ago. They definitely said they'll be at this years NY CON. Looking forward to it and hopefully they'll display something we haven't seen yet.
