Its quite different, although I found the AVP-R to be really unstable... not sure if I got a bad one, but he didn't stand well and had very weak ankles.

Pull the feet off. I'd be you will find cracks in the socket inside the feet causing weak ankles.

I never liked the AVP:R Alien's head from the front. His mouth looks a little squished, plus the width of his entire head seems thin:

Having that said, I love my Grid Alien.

I always thought the AVP-R alien looked better than the AVP one, especially the ridged head design.

AVP Alien is better, I don't like the buck-teeth of the AVP-R alien...

And Grid Alien is awesome...

I'm pretty sure it did, but can't remember as I sold it off a long time ago.

And Denger; the Grid Alien I think is the same color scheme as the regular AVP warrior (just the damage is added) but there was also a brown version... which too me looked pretty stupid.

Nooooooooo!

I have to disagree, I know it's horses for courses, but I swear if Cameron had made the sequel to 'Steamboat Willy' we'd have had hundreds of Mickies with square ears, just because he could!.

I actually would've gone for the Brown Version originally (he had brown and some grey areas so it's a bit more complex in the paint department, plus they painted around the edges of the dome to better fade into his skin color; the regular AVP Aliens have grey skin so the dome makes a big contrast).
Still, I wanted a Dog Alien and didn't want similar-looking colors, so I'm not sweatin' the Grid. He's great.

I didn't say the AVP-R alien looked better than Cameron's alien...I only compared the AVP ones. Frankly though going back on the AVP-R alien, I can't stop marveling at the dome's design - so much going on there...that's the only thing I like from the entire body.
