SDCC is here and no Buffy or Angel figures again.

I feel like I'm on the island of misfit toys.

With the 12" finished and it seems the PF line too I don’t think we will see anything from SS. Only the Tooned up Buffy I think we will see. She looks good but disappointed the 3rd released is a repeated character.

yup, no PF's, no Firefly and pretty much no interest in anything else. So far this SDCC has saved me a whole lot of money.

Whedonville is seriously a lonely place to be if your are looking for SSC products but at least the customs are in full swing.

What is it about Whedon fans that makes them absolutely unable to let go? We saw it when Firefly was canceled, and when Serenity tanked at the box office. We see it with the SSC Buffy lines. THEY ARE DEAD! LET IT GO! Drives me nuts.

Didn't see the Tooned up Glory and Dark Willow. Very Happy Now.

I know the SS line is dead and I can accept that. I think just like most we are unhappy that not all the main characters got made. I do agree it got a good run, better then some of the other lines though.

This statement coming from a SW fan, the most anal species in all of fandom.

Ooooh, let me think....because it was an extremely imaginative, and well written show, that help spawn many great characters that graced our TV sceens for many years?

It may be a 'dead show' but It's not a dead fandom, by any stretch of the imagination. :lol

Oh christ, ditto! :lol :lol

Odowankenobi, I don't understand your criticism. If you're not a fan, that's fine, but what have you got against those of us who are "unable to let it go"? Let WHAT go, exactly? I didn't stop being a fan of Buffy, Angel, or Firefly just because the shows are no longer on, and I still like the figures even though no more are being made. For you to have some bizarre issue with that makes no sense. Fandom and collecting are always about what you like and love in different genres, and sometimes it's even about keeping them "alive" in one form or another. Get over yourself! If you insist on reading posts in a forum that drives you crazy, that says more about you than it does any of us...

Ok, here's an example. For quite some time, being a Browncoat online was something to be ashamed of. This became known as a fandom that was so fanatical, and so unable to look at reality that the pissed off half the internet. People just absolutely refused to accept that Firefly was dead. These are people that tried to deny that Serenity was a box office failure. Any time anyone even mentions the words Firefly or Serenity, there are still many Browncoats that will jump up and start talking about how they think a sequel is so likely. It seems to be the same here. People see that new Buffy stuff will be announces at SDCC and many people start expecting 1/6th figures of PFs, when we already know that those lines are as good as dead. That's my problem.

 I think there are other problems at work here, to be frank. I don't see anyone behaving in a manner that should elicit shame on anyone's behalf. Everyone's speaking respectfully and no one is being bashed (except us by you, evidently).

I don't see that a show being cancelled has anything to do with the fervor of one's interest in it. You make it sound like we're all idiots for keeping some hope alive about collectibles. I assure you we don't fall into any category of those who are unable to look at reality, thank you very much.

Why are you in this forum?

Keep it down whedonville! Your hopefullness makes it difficult for me to criticize the hem of luke skywalkers pants (which is important)!

Do you know one of my favorite things about Sideshow? The fact that they will make a product based on a hugely popular license and still do the obscure item. And what is so far from reality about the prospect of a comeback? As I recall, wasn't it 16 years between Return of the Jedi and Phantom menace? And 19 years between Last Crusade and Kingdom of The Crystal Skull? 1998 X-Files film and ten years later, another X-Files film. According to SSC the lines are on hiatus and not canceled. And while I have no expectation of a resurgence anytime soon, its nice to know the possibility exists.
So the next time you want to tell someone to get over it, I suggest you address the guy wearing the "Han Shot First" t-shirt.

Here here, Anzik! :clap :clap

Did anyone notice that Sideshow's got a poll on their site that asks which license/product are you looking forward to being revealed at SDCC and "Buffy" is listed? Maybe the line isn't all THAT dead after all. :monkey1

^That is referring to the Electric Tiki statues that Sideshow is distributing. Sideshow has already revealed all of their new product for SDCC and there's not a Buffy figure among them.
