Sometimes I feel like people don't realize that no matter how great or awful the MCU is it won't have any effect on the beloved comics. Our vintage comic books aren't going to magically disappear into thin air just because they do a film adaptation of them. The same goes for films. Our DVD copies of the original Ghostbusters didn't disappear because Sony did that wretched reboot last year.

Also, you don't have to see the MCU films if you think you're not going to like them, FLS.

epic post is epic :lol

*tips bowler hat 'cause he's not a Redditor stereotype*

I'd take Sandman all day

Any sane person would...

Defiantly. Cant stand what they are doing with spiderman now. They are interested in only making the little group over at tumblr who don't read comics happy for a while instead of creating new and interesting stories. Why do we need two hulks for?

I'm this close to dropping all my Marvel titles. I'm down to 3, and only because I'm too far in to cancel. DC's teasing King on New Gods, which makes me cream my pants, while Marvel announced Spider-Men II. Which features the now 616 Miles from 1610 teaming up with 616 Peter to find 616 Miles which makes no sense since Post-SW, 1610 Miles is 616 Miles...

Does Marvel still have X Men comics? They used to have a lot of X Men and Wolverine comics.

Two new titles just launched, and in typical Marvel fashion, they ****ed up. The artist for X-Men Gold ws an Indonesian Muslim who added Anti-Jewish and Anti-Christian themes, while drawing Nightcrawler bashing Kitty Pryde's head with a bat (twas an optical illusion though). It go past the editors (Quaran verses and all), but BleedingCool discovered it and all hell broke lose. Just search X-Men Gold Syaf.

Comics are a never ending medium. If you were enjoying a show very much, and midway through S5 it got awful, wouldn't you be pissed? Sure, I can reread Fraction'S/Busiek's/Knaufs' Iron Man for the third time, but I'd rather read some new stories about Tony Stark.

I heard about that, but I didn't know it was an X Men comic. Yeah, I saw a photo and on the character's shirt it even had a number of the verse :lol :lol

Those editors must be idiots. I hope the artist and writer were fired. Just because of the anti Jewish/Christian propaganda should be enough, because if it was a an anti Muslim message the person would be called a racist and a Trump lover and fired.

I haven't seen too many people complaining about it though.

I guess I should have been more specific, LOL. I was referring to Marvel Comics from the 60's/70's/80's. The comics theses days do sometimes copy stuff from the films. This would be an example - Loki in Agent of Asgard wielding a scepter very clearly based on the one used by his MCU counterpart.

The writer is Jewish (Arrow's Guggenheim) so it's even worse. Syaf got fired, but some did defend him and all that. Alonso just needs to be fired, period. The comics division is running on borrowed time. Even Lenore is leaving now that his contract is done. Marvel announced that Legscy crap (probably October's annual relaunch), so come July, when it's revealed and the new books announced, I'll probably jump ship. I'll keep Infamous if it's still goin, and maybe add the new Moon Knight solo, but that's it. Tony Stark and Stephen Strange books would tempt me, but they're written as middle aged guys having a midlife crisis and quipping 24/7 so I'm not that excited...

Sad thing is, Loki:AoA was one of Marvel's last good books... Today's publishing line is just a joke. 70s/80s Marvel it seems won't be topped. Even the 2000s had lots of gems, but the 2010s have just been awful...

That dude ended his career on that one :lol

I reckon some small company will hire him just to make headlines. Which is a shame, since his art was actually good good. But yeah, that was a big time career suicide move.

Not just the Scepter, but the costume is similar in style, also the old Loki before the films had blonde hair I think, and now he's got the movie hair and the helmet is similar in style to the Thor 3 helmet.

I actually think it's an improvement over the old Loki, but not everything from the movies should make it into the comics.

Nah, I don't see any company touching that one

Maybe you're right, but there are tons of small time publishers that'd love some spotlight. There were quite a few that published books with their characters punching Trump, smashing his balls and whatnot. It was around the "punch Nazis" thing, so they hoped to get some traction. Nothing came out of it, but I could see one or two trying to do something with Syaf. Improbable, but not entirely impossible.

Cause comics are now mainstream and cool. Back then comics were looked down upon and were for nerds. Now everyone loves them so they can't make good stories they have to try and please everyone or they'll get mad.
