Yet people still seem to expect it to be.MCU is literally 98.7% not anything like the comics lol
Sometimes they do go things, sometimes they don't.How do I know? 3 letters: P.O.B. Pattern of Behavior

No, because I don't read comics so I don't really care. Can you name a single thing Adam Warlock ever did in the comics that wasn't directly related to Thanos or the Infinity Stones?
I can't. His entire character is entwined in that story. And that story is completely finished in the MCU.
So like I said.....why?
Deviation from the source material is cool but at least do great when you have the chance. They haven't done one great thing since Endgame.Yet people still seem to expect it to be.

I’d rather just not set it up for failure already after seeing 3 frames of the character.Deviation from the source material is cool but at least do great when you have the chance. They haven't done one great thing since Endgame.
If it's any good it will be because of Gunn, but he's just dealing with the cards that the dealer handed him. Just one of the reasons he's run off to DC. More creative slate, R-Rated, untapped potential.
I was very surprised to hear it, although it sounded like a different version.I, for one, have never forgotten "In the Meantime" by Spacehog. It gets heavy rotation in my playlist.
They're not, the stuff you like is still there. They just keep ruining everything I like...
Yeah, just like the Tony Stark I grew up reading didn't turn into a quipping machine who cries every two issues, just like Star Lord didn't go from a Space Veteran to a quipping doofus, just like Doctor Strange didn't go from Vincent Price to a quipster who pukes because he eats tentacles, just lik- I won't go on.They're not, the stuff you like is still there.
Adam Warlock looks dumb. But then again, he always looked dumb in the comics, too. Besides, he's too late for the Infinity War....so why bother?
Again, not ruining anything, you can still read the comics if you want the comics. This doesn't affect them whatsoever.Yeah, just like the Tony Stark I grew up reading didn't turn into a quipping machine who cries every two issues, just like Star Lord didn't go from a Space Veteran to a quipping doofus, just like Doctor Strange didn't go from Vincent Price to a quipster who pukes because he eats tentacles, just lik- I won't go on.
Besides, I don't care about the flicks as adaptations; they were always going to be watered down nonsense for the "general audience". I care that they're ruining the designs completely and I can't buy the dolls and the general merch of characters I've always wanted. When I hear "Adam Warlock" I think "Space Magician", not "Goofy Dude In Tacticool Pleather Outfit". The "High Evolutionary" is literally a guy in a purple pleather lab coat with needless lines. It's embarassing.
Yawn.Well, if The High Evolutionary was given his proper look, then we wouldn't be able to see the diversity & representation from Disney.
Disney is breaking new ground after all. It's amazing how progressive they are...
No offense but, these comic characters have endured BECAUSE of the comic book readers and its fans. You can't say you don't like something when you've never really exposed yourself to it. Most people want to see what they've followed and have been reading for decades on the big screen. A unique take is one thing, but they just do things for different reasons and cost cutting. Not because they think the designs/character is dumb or uninteresting.Again, not ruining anything, you can still read the comics if you want the comics. This doesn't affect them whatsoever.
I don't like comics, and personally I think most of the designs you show as comparison in these threads look terrible anyway . The High Evolutionary you showed looks like a high tech space gimp.
Then stop casting good actors. Save some money and cast some new unknown talent. Quentin Tarantino was 100% right in his statement. The actors aren't the stars, the characters are. I'm so tired of every 5 minutes a costumed character needs to remove their face covering so we can see who it is.Yawn.
He's a really good actor, and his face is very expressive, it'd be a shame to cover it up tbh.
Not really, maybe in the early years, but the MCU is much larger than the comic fanbase ever was now.No offense but, these comic characters have endured BECAUSE of the comic book readers and its fans.
I've exposed myself to it enough, I don't enjoy the medium. You can't say you don't like something when you've never really exposed yourself to it.
Why? You just want a 1:1 adaption? Thats a bit stale and cheap imo. Most creators also don't want to sign on and be restricted in such a way. Most people want to see what they've followed and have been reading for decades on the big screen.
9/10 MCU castings are perfect, so I'll trust their judgement; and I'll express my disappointment or give praise depending on which way the wind blows. Also there's no way that this is the same High Evolutionary from 616, I doubt he's some bloke from Manchester or even Earth for that matter. Then stop casting good actors. Save some money and cast some new unknown talent.
He'd have to be a good Batman/Bruce Wayne for that.Imagine if WB felt no one could replace Micheal Keaton as the Iconic Bruce Wayne....
Agreed. Good post.No offense but, these comic characters have endured BECAUSE of the comic book readers and its fans.
