It's contrived, silly and non-canon (and yes I know it was in some silly comic book way back when).


Licensees: "Look! We've painted a Stormtrooper all black!! How clever and hip!"

Some SW fans/collectors: "Wow, that is like the coolest thing ever!! I'll take seven!"

And, of course, the biggest issue is that they don't stop with the Stormtroopers. Like everything else SW, it's gotten run right into the ground.

I really think the Stormtroopers look better in black. I remember when I first saw them in 1977, one of my first thoughts about them was that they were very cool, but would be cooler if they were black. So when the L.A. Times did the storyline in their Star Wars comic strip about Blackhole and his stormtroopers...I was stoked! I didn't find out about it until years later, though as I didn't live in L.A.

I doubt will we actually see any SW 1/6 this time round. With Han in Carbonite and the FU trooper, we have already 2 announcements in consecutive weeks.

Obviously as a SW 1/6 fan, I definitely wouldn't mind any new announcements.

Starkiller is black and gray. Would make sense after the trooper announcement. Although it would be very close together.

If there is a black and white themed SW figure to be announced I would say it could be a Death Star Trooper using the same figure as the Rebel Fleet Trooper.
