Holy Crap!?!

This was the one figure I really wanted, but that odd size was a turn-off. But $250+... just insane :google

The DCD 13" all seem to gain a little after initial release but the Hal Jordan/Green Lantern really took off, its become the "Grail" of that line even though its still in its infancy. The DCD 13" Modern Superman also commands a nice pricetag on the secondary market but no where near the price of ol' Hal.

And to think Green Latern became available to me and was in my grubby lil' hands. I passed on it thinking it was nothing special. Ugh!

It must be because he has the best accessory. His light up lantern actually lights up. What else could it be? It's just one of those things you really do have to wonder about. Still no idea?

The accessory IS great. The lantern is insanely bright for a toy and for the scale and the body being used, he's a great figure. But I wouldn't think he'd be worth that much. The line seems to be successful so we can expect GL variants, perhaps Hal in his new outfit.

Manhunter is the next one out - in May.

WTF!?!? I would see this figure sitting on a shelf collecting dust everytime I went to my LCS! Gotta go back and see if they still have it, if they do then it's off to ebay!! :chew

I collect this line and I have to tell you the Green Lantern may be the best figure so far. Here are a few reasons why

1. The Hal Jordan likeness is dead-on
2. The costume is perfect, it works perfectly with the larger frame of the figure
3. The retail price is/was lower than the 2 previous DCD 13" figures, Batman Begins Batman and the original Superman figure
4. The mask fits like a glove on the figure, no glue or adhesive necessary
5. There is only one accesory, the source of his power, the Lantern itself
6. There is a large contingent of Green Lantern fans, the Corps logo is one of the most recognizable in comics today

On a personal note I own a few of this figure and in my opinion it is not only the best figure in this line but maybe the best Green Lantern figure ever.

My buddy owns a comic book store and his favorite comic is Batman. When the Batman figure, which I think is really cool looking, came out he basically said, "Yeah it's good, but the GL is perfect so everything after is kind of a let down."
This is a case of a figure getting crazy money because it actually is above average.

GL has been selling high for quite a while now. Probably was a short run.
I think that might be it also. It's a great figure but I suspect it was produced in lower quantities than Superman or Batman. And it is a nicer and more popular figure than some of the others like Lex and Two Face meaning faster retail sales which boosts the after market price for the completists.
Man, I love Green Lantern but the eBay prices are awfully tempting when you know they will do more GL's if the line continues.
