Guess the DC 13" aren't too popular

Being an owner of every 13" DCD released, I can honestly say that Green Lantern is the best to date! Glad I only had to pay $50 the day he was released!

I've seen some auctions for loose 13" Hal figures going for over $200 as well.

It's upcoming. I might actually get it, too, since J'onzz is supposed to be freakishly tall.

Saw him at the NYCC and he didn't seem any taller than the other heroes he was displayed with. The alternate Martian head was kind of cool though.

Damn I was so stupid for passing on Green Lantern. :banghead I put him off hoping to buy him later when I had the money. It looks like I'll never have one.
DCD loves to reissue popular figures such as Superman and Batman so I hope they do the same with this Hal Green Lantern someday. They might possibly make a better version.
Kyle Rayner is unlikely in this series, Alex Ross is collaborating on much of it, and he hates Rayner, so we'll see Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, Stewart, and the Golden Age Alan Scott Green Lanterns long before Kyle. It sucks because I'd rather have Hal and Kyle before any of the others.

What really sucks is that the figures do NOT fit in with a person's 1:6 collection due to their being oversized and the articulation points were somewhat poorly designed.

I agree, but what are we to do, wait for DCD to figure that out? I doubt they'll ever understand that, they live on their own planet where a 6 foot man translates to 14" in 1/6.

Amen to that - what idiot thought it would be a bright idea to have cut joints in the middle of big muscle sculpts under lycra? Not only as ugly as sin but I've had the sharp edges catch on the costume too.

I'm holding out hope that Toybiz's forthcoming 12" TNA (?) wrestler figures might be a handy base to swap some of the DCD's over onto. Triad were talking about extra-muscular figuresafter their initial more normal bods - hopefully there might be a bit of DCD-improvement potential there too.

Nick

The TNA wrestlers looked pretty good, but I'm not sure a switch with the DC heroes would work.
It really is too bad DC fumbled the idea on these super heroes. The outfits are all really nice, I like what they did with the boots, GL's mask being magnetic was a great touch... <sigh>

Does anybody have pictures of any of the DCD figures next to a normal 1/6 figure? I'm interested in getting the Black and Gray Batman, but I was curious as to just how much bigger he was.

I collect this line and I have to tell you the Green Lantern may be the best figure so far. Here are a few reasons why

1. The Hal Jordan likeness is dead-on
2. The costume is perfect, it works perfectly with the larger frame of the figure
3. The retail price is/was lower than the 2 previous DCD 13" figures, Batman Begins Batman and the original Superman figure
4. The mask fits like a glove on the figure, no glue or adhesive necessary
5. There is only one accesory, the source of his power, the Lantern itself
6. There is a large contingent of Green Lantern fans, the Corps logo is one of the most recognizable in comics today

On a personal note I own a few of this figure and in my opinion it is not only the best figure in this line but maybe the best Green Lantern figure ever.

Great points there, here's some pix to illustrate.

I couldn't get the fingers to bend as much as I wanted to here, as the paint on the hand would just flake off, but you get the idea

the only point I can add is that he completes the league (for me at least)

I didn't ever get the Green Lantern (never much of GL fan), but I might after seeing what he can do on e-bay!

I do have the Batman and if you can get over the issue of 13", he's probably one the greatest Batman figures I've seen. Not withstanding the Takara and Hot Toys, but this one can actually lift his arms above his head or throw a punch. Sometimes I've seen it referred to as the Jim Lee style Batman. I guess I can see that but to me he looks more like the David Machzelli version from Year One. That's a version I always wished someone would make.

Hit or miss though, I just picked up the "re-issue" Superman or Modern Superman and I don't think Batman should be taller but that's how your picture makes it look. I've got to go back and check mine, compare them side to side.

I can't believe this figure is worth that much!! :google

I just saw one of these at a comic shop last week for retail.

**walks quietly towards car** :monkey3

Thanks for the pics. I really like that Batman. I think he will be my next purchase. The 13" thing doesn't really bother me much. Batman should be larger than life anyway. Plus, My favorite Batman is the Frank Miller Dark Night which is drawn large anyway.

Hey Shaun thanks for backing me up on the greatness of this figure. I have to tell you a year or so ago I saw the pics of you purchasing the original Superman figure with your Superman t-shirt on. The pics you took of the figure out of package motivated me to purchase that figure and give the DCD 13" line a chance. Thank you, your website is da shiznat!!!

Sorry for the bad angle, i think its maybe cos Bats is standing infront of supes.

Maybe these pix are a better indication of the height?
