i have one but haven't shot it yet. i'll say it's much lighter in comparison to my other M1A Loaded. i'd consider it more of a battle rifle and the other one a sniper rifle.

have you checked out Saiga rifles? they make a .308 model. you can get one for around $460-$490 i shot my 16" 7.62x39 last Friday. loads of fun! i finally field stripped it to clean it today. it's pretty easy to maintain.

Same here. My dad had a Glock 17 but sold it in 04 because we needed money. I've been wanting to get one but damnit my toys come first. I'd also like to get an HK45 LEM but I don't think it's on the CA approved list.

I've been thinking of purchasing some home defense recently... looking at picking up a Tactical shotgun. with the small amount of research I've done, I'm looking at the Mossberg 590A1.
If any of you have any personal experience with this or have another recommendation I'm all ears.. also info on the proper ammo for home use. (I wouldn't want it going through the walls if I ever had to use it as I live in a condo)

Excellent choice! Comes with the ghost rings sights so all you really "need" would be some form of light system (the Surefire foregrip is the best choice) and you are good to go.
Don't use slugs for an apartment ... stick with 00 Buck or even a #4 bird shot.
