Anyone know anything about the HK 416?

hk416-1.jpg

My understanding is that it is the HK version of the M4 -- a modular assault rifle. I've always been happy with HK, so generally look to see if there is an HK available in any particular firearm model before deciding what to purchase.

Is there a semi-auto version of the HK416 available for sale to civilians? Anyone ever get the opportunity to fire one -- how does it compare to other AR models?

I am a happy camper. Around July I will be spending time in Pheonix for work.

Wait 'til you get a load of me then.

Bought my wife her first gun, a Ruger LCR in 38 spl; "we" get to try it out this weekend. :hi5:

Just found some pics from last midsummers eve that got lost on the memory card (Midsummer is a tradition here in Sweden to celebrate the day when the sun is highest in the sky, which occurs in late June)..

I'd brought one of my .22 rifles so we could have a contest, girls vs boys.

I was glad I could give them an opportunity to try out a high end rifle, and I enjoyed seeing that they had so much fun..

Btw, the girls totally crushed us guys, I can blame it on that I and another guy that's done military service where the only one with shooting experience :lol

It has a muzzle velocity of 450 m/s which means it goes under the same laws as firearms here in Sweden so its not a toy, but we used it early in the day and we hadnt started drinking for real. Still not totaly ok though.. I know :D
