Going out tonight to pick up that Tusken Raider ornament...I like that other exclusive from Wizard of Oz (with the Monkey)...

Dont wait to long, I went to the one by my house, I walked in maybe 5-10 min after they opened. First thing I hear is a guy asking if they have any more Tusken Raiders, she says they all are out, and I am like WTF. Then I walk over and find the rest and they one is a single Tuskin Raider at the very back of the bottom shelf. The lady said that they only were given 10. I was 10 she said yep, they only got 4 of one of the other exclusives.

Wow, I'd guess those numbers are fairly consistent accross the chain, if that's the case, I'm sure glad I live in a small town. I can only imagine how many ********* are out there scoffing them up for eBay...

I used Hasbro VOTC Luke to give the pieces scale.

I got my Tusken as well. I was actually suprised as the mall based store near me opened up about 30 minutes early. I was able to walk right in and get it. I plan on grabbing Jack and the Jawa as well.

It's crazy the way people do that stuff. I was once in a Wal-Mart back before AOTC came out looking for the preview figures, this guy in line in front of me snagged up all the Jango's and Clone Troopers so I had only Zam Wessel in hand and I thought I was being quiet but I was commenting to my dad about seeing them on the counter for checkout, and the guy was nice enough to give me a Jango, but still, I'm very bothered by people going through traditional means and buying up items like that so that everyone else is left to go to eBay and places and pay insanely more than retail because it's the only way to get a hold of one.

Well I have been gone all day but I just got home. I got to the Hallmark in Lancaster SC as we were there for the day at around 9:30. I walked in and quickly picked up Uhura and the Tusken and then started pilling the others in a shopping basket. I got all 4 of the SW ornaments, all 3 of the Star Trek ones and Captain Jack. I grabbed an extra Tusken in case I ever drop it (its got a lot of points that can break easily) because I have a feeling this will be a pain to replace later. The store I went to had I think 8 and by the time I left the store there was only 2 left.

I wonder if this is it for this year. I really wouldnt mind a few more ornaments.

I really liked all of them really well and just decided to go ahead and buy them all. I spent $222 dollars this morning. I also picked up an Eyeore for a friends present

I absolutely loved the Tusken and the Jawa and R2.

I also liked the Captain Jack alot. I hope they eventually make an Elizabeth Barbossa Will and some of the crew as ornaments in years to come.

I believe this will be it for the year, this was all of the ornaments they had announced a while back, and there is never anything beyond the intial announcement, but it'd seem this year it's a trade off that there's a limited piece instead of the usual a few released on premier day and the rest come out a few months later. They're all great additions to the collection, but another year or two and I'm gonna need a bigger tree again.

Yep I know about the tree thing. I bought another tree just for Star Wars and Trek ornaments last year after Christmas. I just dont know where Im going to put it yet.

2 years ago I had to upgrade form a 2 1/2 footer to a 3 1/2. I also have a handful of Star Trek ornaments on it that I've liked over the years, like Galileo with Leonard Nimoy greeting and the Enterprise from the classic Trek films, but mainly it's Star Wars Hallmark. Last year, my parents got me a couple ceramic Star Wars ornaments to add to the mix, I forget who they're from. It's fun to mix the fun of Christmas decorating with my Star Wars passion.

Did Hallmark put a limit on those? I got so upset last night. I went into Hallmark in one of the local malls and saw a guy buying 4 of those Tusken Raiders at the register.

Figuring nothing big, I searched and eventually found the aisle with the Holiday Ornament set-up and low and behold the same guy must've bought the last Tusken's available (including the one on display). They were located on the bottom shelf with some of the other Star Wars ornaments. My heart sank (where the space the Tusken was supposed to be on) was empty with a picture of what was supposed to be on that shelf. The only exclusive they had left was some Star Trek ornament. The rest were all sold out.

I'm just going to buy the Luke/Obi/C3PO dio and Jawa/R2D2 closer to the holidays...I don't feel like searching high and low for an ornament. It's not worth it. It would've been cool to add the Tusken with the other ones I own...but it;s my loss. I should've went earlier...

Granted, without facts there's no way to know why one individual was buying so many, could easily have been doing a favor for some friends, but more likely, a reseller trying to cash in on the limited edition. Hallmark SHOULD have put a limit of like 1 per person, but perhaps that are ignorant to the games eBay ********* play and ruin things for the average joe.

You're right Maulfan. I agree 100%.

While I was frustrated, I wasn't completely upset about getting shut out. The guy buying all those Tusken Raiders has every right to buy those. It's his money and there was no set limit. If he wants to sell those on e-bay, he has every right to do that, but I'm not the kind of person that'll overpay to get these things let alone buy anything from e-bay at an inflated price just to have something "rare". I'm just going to stick with what I'm going to get down the line with the Jawa/R2 and the Luke/Obi dio...

Well, I don't think it's fair for people to have a right to scoff things up and sell em on eBay. It's one thing when it's a mass produced item that is fairly easy to come by and someone's hoping to swing a little extra cash catching someone who may be willing to pay more than retail, at that point, it's like hunting around stores for best deal and that's ok, but when you get into limited edition items that a person could go after and have every fair chance of finding except for the *******s that snatch up all of them to greedily rape the public, that's just wrong in my mind. eBay is nice for finding people with an item here or that you may not come by in general shopping, but because it's a way to have stores with no overhead, it's opened up every ******* on the planet to go out there, snatch up merchandise, and cheat the buying community, and that's not right. The only way to combat that would be to put a limit on quantity per person, it may hurt the guy doing a favor for a friend, but it also favors the little guy who has no shot cuz some dick in front of him bought all of them at once to resell.

Finally got my Tusken ornament. My local Hallmark had plenty in stock when I checked the store on a whim. So much for the guy hoarding all those Tusken's at the other store...I hope he makes a fortune .
