Yes, the paint is different on these. It is more glossy and much nicer.

The velcro fix and now more gloss! Improvements are good!

I dropped Luke's helmet about 4 feet to a hardwood floor and it bounced 3 times. I cringed and cursed

those are scary moments when you drop something expensive by accident and then get the results. nice to know the helmets seem to be durable

The face sculpts look incredible on these. I love the expressions. The paint? Not so much. I can live with it, but they need that little extra touch to make them appear less...goofy? Comical? I'm not sure. I'll probably like them a lot more when I have them in hand later this week. Thanks for the awesome pics, though!

The color doesn't bother me so much as they just look like someone went over the brow with a marker.

I just got most of the work OFF my desk too... Getting figures always puts me so behind.

Here is my quick review:

1) Paint apps are GREAT. (I guess everyone is entitled to contract Chicken Little Syndrome once).
2) The Ankles are tight(er) but not as tight as I like them.
3) The elbows are LOOSE (way too loose)
4) The chest armor is velcro'd to the body.
5) The inside of the helmets are nicelt detailed and have a bit of "heft" to them.
6) The head comes off too easy.
7) The armor is glossy.

4/5 stars IMO.

Hmmm... interesting to see some improvements to the armor. I figured they would be exactly the same.

Still, pretty bare bones (aside from the inner helmet) for a set of mostly reuse figures.

Well, Rismo and Pixletwin ended up getting a better paint app on Luke than I did. Congrats guys! I tried calling SS a few times today and they're not picking up at the Return/Replacement extension. I've got to see if I can get a replacement, since Luke has issues with his eye and chest armor and both Luke and Han have much floppier joints than my original Stormtrooper.

Definitely better than the first bad paint apps. With mine Luke looks way better than Han. Han has wonky eyes and the paint is sloppy. There is slop on his ears and hair. They do feel rushed. They are molded in skin tone plastic with paint over it to give shading. It some spots it looks incomplete. There are also some hairline marks on the face of Han.
