Redone to help with comprehension:

We'll ignore the size issue since I think that argument was pretty well beat to death in the regular thread. This deals with those looking to cut corners by picking up Han & Luke to also use in place of Stormtroopers vs. being content with what we're getting...

like I said. these cool helmets are cooler than normal helmets and i wouldn't want to pay $20 more for another set of helmets that could be worn.

I'm happy with what we're getting. I never need or plan on posing Han and Luke wearing theirs.

I'm happy with it. I like the detailing in the helmet. If I choose to display them with the helmets being worn, I'll use foam or something.

I think having an option to replace the headsculpts with regular helmets would have helped sell more of them. More options available this way.

1. Headsculpts on figures as Luke/Han in disguise.
2. Helmets on figures as either Luke/Han in disguise or generic Stormtroopers.
3. Helmets on figures, use Luke/Han headsculpts on other Luke/Han figures for added display options for the other figures.

Yet doing so would've all but crippled the sale of regular Stormtroopers.

especially if SSC priced the figures near the same (like they did for these).

In reality, the figures would have been $20 more and then a lot of people would have passed because of the prices.

I still don't see what the big deal is here. You got people here boiling the armor, dipping it in floor polish, repainting the eyes green, etc. And all you would need to do is make a little foam ball to fit the neckpost and helmet if you wanted to have an extra Stormie. It could even be a balled up paper towel, for crying out loud!

Really. Out of all the mods people do, rigging up something to hold up the helmet is probably the easiest.

Anyway, I'm happy they went with the detailed helmet since it's the only way I'll display them, and I already have a Stormie.

Good point. If I had known these were coming, I would have skipped purchasing the regular Stormtrooper and picked up these two instead. Headsculpts would have gone to my Smuggler Han / Tatooine Luke as display options and helmets would have been rigged to the bodies, to stand behind Vader.

But in the end, they are what they are: SDCC exclusives. The alternate headsculpts and detailed helmets are the key here. Excellent marketing move by Sideshow.

Aside from the height issue, I really dig the helmets the way they are. Why would I want more standard Stormies after I just got my Standard Stormies?

I am looking at this from a Collector POV and not a 'I'm broke, and couldn't afford normal Stormies' which i appreciate is affecting many.

:lecture - I agree with all of the above. Its such a non-issue. I might even swap head sculpts with ANH Luke and Han every now and then just to see how they look... are the neck posts on the new armoured body different to the Buck?

I am super happy with what Sideshow did to the helmets. Luke not being shorter still bugs me though.:(

Yes, quite different. The Bucks have a sculpted neck and these are more like HT's Christian Bale headsculpt, being only a head (no neck), relying on a separate articulated piece for the neck.

Yes, these are on the new armored bodies which have a ball neck post (like Hot Toys). They'd work great on other bodies like Trutype though.
