Oh absolutely. I had forgotten it was made for 3D until it started and I could see where the 3D would've popped. Glad I bought it and cant' wait to watch again and again

I saw it in 3D and it was great.

The unrated version probably has more bewbs, Waller. :lol

Yeah I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It turned out to be my favourite fantasy film of the year, Oz & Jack The Giant Slayer were both a bit disappointing IMO. Especially Oz

Nothing would get me to sit through this movie again. :lol

But as I posted in the BR thread, this sucker is 12 bucks for the BR/DVD/Digi edition @ WalMart today. Good news for those that liked it! :wave

I put this movie on to just watch in the background while i fiddled with some figures, but ended up with my eyes glued to the screen all the way through.
it was a fun movie. really enjoyed more than i thought i would. :)

it had some good effects but the story was slim at best. acting was horrible and i really don't like movies that inject modern day sayings and weaponry into a time period that supposed to have occurred many years past. like ...'awesome' or renner using a multi-round assault shotgun. an mtv production says it all. 2 out of a 10. worth a $1 red box rental, nothing more.

Did we see the same movie? It's pure fun and fantasy.

I guess you never saw Van Helsing then. Oh, and don't watch A Knight's Tale! ;)

Renner using a multi-round assault shotgun was nothing but awesome. Hell, Renner could have used a chicken wing to beat up those nasty witches and it still would have been awesome.

I loved H&G so much :D :lol

loved van helsing, hated a knight's tale. i usually will like a movie like this unless it makes me cringe. several cringes in this one. the 'awesome' remark was one. the use of an assault shotgun was another, which wasn't invented at the time. the multi-launch crossbow was excellent as was in van helsing. the fight scenes featured hansel and gretel getting their butts kicked a majority of the time yet their energy levels were always max. got to the point where i wondered if any of it would slow them down and if i could buy whatever they were taking. then you learn at the end they were part witch...but good. OYE. and the writers kill off the hot good witch but the troll lives? OYE OYE! :lol rented this with parker. that one sucked bad but was still better.

There are alot of good movies out there that the critics pan, and they're usually scifi, horror or fantasy.

Throw someone who is handicapped or "special" in a movie and they all drool over it. That's how alot of movies are nominated for Oscars, despite being mediocre. Subtitles help as well. I remember Siskel and Ebert loved their subtitled movies.

I've seen waaaaaay too many times, especially on Rotten Tomatoes, where a movie is months from release yet it's already considered "rotten".

Good post. Just look at the critic reviews for man of steel then compare them with the audience reviews- audience rating is 30% higher then the "rotten" critic scores.

I enjoyed H&G very much, very surprised too because I wasn't expecting much. It was very much in the vien of van helsing which I also liked. I bought the unrated version on blu because it was so cheap but sort of regret not getting the 3d version now :(

The 3D version isn't the unrated version?

Nope, its the theatrical version. I never saw the theatrical version, only the unrelated which was gory as hell and what my impression of the movie was based on. However watching it in 2d I could see that the 3d would be very good and probably worth the purchase. I just don't know how much gore and nudity was cut out for theaters.

Bummer. :(

I always like watching unrated versions. Oh, well. It would give me the opportunity of watching 2D unrated and 3D theatrical.

I know this is late.

But WOW this movie was Awesome!! This was so much fun. Watching this reminded me of watching really cool movies when I was little, like Monster Squad or the Witches etc. Gave a nostalgia feeling.
I really really loved this. I expected it to suck and I was blown away. I had so much fun watching this.
