YOu know what's weird with birthday's, at least with me? I really don't look forward to them. I hate getting older, and that's all my birthday reminds me of. I also don't like being on center stage, so I choose to keep it private. Although I do appreciate all the good natured birthday wishes, so thanks everyone.
But I have a buddy who is almost 40 years old, and about two months prior to his birthday, he announces and reminds everyone of the fact, so we can clear our schedule for his special day. God forbid if you miss it. It's really bizarre. I stopped caring about getting presents and having birthday parties when I was a teenager. I kind of mentioned it to him, because he is a friend, but I'll never make that mistake again. I'm not suggesting it shouldn't be acknowledged and celebrated, but once you're past your 21st birthday, it really isn't that big of a deal for me, with exception of your 30th, 40th, etc.
