Online or in person doesn't matter to be friends. I find my friends on here to be more reliable and trustworthy than people I've met face to face.

Here, here! :duff

And thank you for the kind words earlier, Sean.

Les, my thanks to you as well!

This kind of comraderie is what makes this forum so addictive and fun...

It's too bad we can't all combine our minds to figure out someway to tap into an endless cash flow so we can all have everything :

Ain't that the truth!

If we can just find a way to put Collector Freak, Chavez, Bodie, Shai, and some others to good use we should have a nice start. :lol

What's with all this American Thanksgiving day tripe? I'm not thankful. I'm grateful. Joyous Gratefulday to all and sundry. Yabba. :grouphug

You're right Creech. It does get too mushy at times. I can be too.
I admit it. I am a softy.
But I am grateful. And yes, I have buddys I know in person of course, but not many that are as into collecting stuff and into movies and all, as much are here. So, it does get heady for an old movie buff like me. Most of my local friends are all married now, with kids, whose wives all think I am mad with the collecting bug, and don't want their husbands around that anymore or influenced by it, so yeah, THAT GETS OLD! But I still hang with 'em when I can. But here, all that ceases. Here the gang is who they are. For the most part.

This is simply a great format that allows we mad nuts to meet up is all.

I guess I shoulda said I was grateful for the companies that make the toys that bring us together, Sideshow, Hot Toys, Medicom, whoever, and I am. But to be honest, I am moreso for the comraderie that I find here. The people. My fellow collectors.
When get to I know more company folks, like others here do, then they too will be more "real" to me, and the companys less abstract. I hope to.
And I am Thankful...for them and all their efforts on my behalf.

Anyway, whatever. This is a good day, not a sour one.
Off to start making a large dinner for my family. A gathering. A day to be "grateful" indeed.

And to anyone that questions having friends though this medium, I say TRY IT instead of questioning it! Give that side of our meeting place a chance.
It's been very rewarding for me in some personal ways. I can't say how often a member has PMd or emailed me when times were scary or bad, and showed me a support I often get get no where else. That goes a long way, I'll tell ya!

Thanks friends!

Happy F'n Kurgansgiving!!!!

Thanks to all the ****** bags out there that make this board great.

Names like Collector Freak, Buffy Collector, Midnight Joker, that one thief guy I cant remember, all come to mind.

I cant think of any better place to spend hours of my life I will never get back. Time well spent. Who needs the sun or the contact with fleshlings. Human interact in overrated.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

The Kurgan landed here in 1492 and banged some Indian chicks over Plymouth Rock, and so we celebrate!!!

Long the my fellow freaks!!!

May you spend Kurgansgiving with your loved ones and enjoy the time you have together. Life is short and can be taken in an instant, be greatful and let those you love know so.

Later ****** bags!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FELLOW SSF MEMBERS! :D

I am so happy to have joined this board earlier this year! I've met some incredible people on here. It is just so nice to come to a place where you can share your passion and enthusiasm for collecting this great figures with other people who appreciate them like you do.

I feel very fortunate to have made many new friends on this board, and I'm always looking to make more! :family

I am thankful for my loving family, especially my wife who has "tolerated" my collecting hobby in the almost 13 years we've been married. I know it must be hard for her to believe a 36 year-old man collects what she sees in her eyes as "toys", but I've made her understand these collectibles are so much more than that. She's awesome.

Well, I gotta go eat too much now! Take care everyone... :D

Happy Thanksgiving!

I think it's only fair that I thank all of you for contributing to a place where, for once in my life, I don't feel like I'm the only person in the world who collects "toys." You have all become people I know and love, and I'm grateful to know you. So many of you have helped me in my most desperate times, to the point that some of you have literally put food on my plate when I had nothing to eat. You will never know how deeply grateful I am.

And of course, thanks for putting up with me and my crazy passions (LOTR, Faramir, etc.), but even more, for respecting me as a person and for always giving me room to be myself, even when I'm pretty different sometimes. I figure if a guy as peaceful as me can have fun in a place as crazy as this, you know it's a good place.

Oh, and thanks be to King Darkness and the mighty Krusaders--let none speak ill of them ever as long as I live! They have welkomed me and even granted me honor in their land, and I will always konsider them my klosest allies and best friends here at SSF. If a King as wise and ruthless as Darkness can welkome and enkourage a person such as I, you know that their Kause must be true! So thanks be to the Krusade--long my viktory and honor grace your Kause!

Oh, and Twistedfreak just sent me a really brief note saying he misses being here, and loves you all. He'll write more soon he says.

Happy Thanksgiving, one and all.

:lol

I didn't know you had such a soft spot! :D

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! :D I am so grateful for the freak board, where I have had the opportunity to get to know so many wonderful and talented people. For Shai, for introducing me to the Krusaders who have bekome like brothers to me. The people on this board are so special to me. I can often times share things with them that I find difficult to do with my local friends. Here I can be who I truly am and not feel embarrassed by collecting habits and obsessive/compulsive behavior. :lol You all rock in your own special way and that is what makes this board a wonderfully place to be!! Thank you!! :duff

Hey, haven't been around, just saw this and I wanted to extend My Best Thanksgiving wishes to all my Brother and Sister Freaks as well!

And thanks for the kind words Les, Sean et al. You guys are all great! :D

Thanks friends!

Ahh Les, you self confessed softy. You make me wanna hug and squeeze ya and call you mah very own.

I guess I was outta line with the comment about tripe. Which is actually a very healthy food. :yuck Being unaccustomed to your culture, doesn't mean I can't be swayed with your traditions. So feed me. :lol Yes, I am liking what I have been reading, and I agree that a gathering place like this is nice mixture of cultures and traditions and more so personalities and characters. I don't even mind the more abrasive members, because they have valid opinions too.

I shall take this opportunity to remind our forgetful King of Melvin:lightnin, but not to annoy him, rather reiterate how thankful we can all be that DLDave has saved many of us from catastrophe, and oft times that goes unseen. 'Tis a great time to be alive and a great place to be, amongst friends. Thank you all.

I love the devotion this site has... Turkey dinner is just over and people are already coming online here. That's dedication!

Dinner's over? I've been bouncing around here all day lol. I did spend time with my family though, and it was nice, but a collector is who I am and collecting is such a part of my life, I need time with people who share my passion. Everyone has a home, for geeks and Freaks, it's sideshowcollectors.com :) :rock
