Re: Harmy's Star Wars Despecialized Edition Remastered- List in First Post!!!

Any news on Harmy's lastest version of Empire Strikes Back?

Re: Harmy's Star Wars Despecialized Edition Remastered- List in First Post!!!

Nothing until after he is done what he is working on with ANH.

Expect ESB and ROTJ to take a year or more.

I thought ANH was done. :dunno

Cool jimjimmyjones85. Thanks.

Oh ok. That is good to know. I kind of hopes he skips ESB and goes straight to Return of the Jedi. Of all the SE, ESB is the easiest for me to live with.

I believe he's already stated that ESB is next. Although, I do remember him saying ESB is easier to tweak because not a lot was messed with. The V1.0 of this is great while he works on 2.0.

Harmy, leave ANH as-is and move on. :panic:

I actually think McDiarmid's Emperor scene was the best enhancement made to the OT. Definitely prefer watching that to the original version.

Yes, ESB is next but not until he finishes doing what he is already doing to ANH

It might be cool for someone to make an ultimate edit version. Keep what we want from the original but edit in some of the SE changes that we actually like or prefer to the original. Personally I like the original untouched but a hybrid version would be fun to have in addition.

there is a good one out there!!! Can't remember what it is called, but have a DVD copy of it... it's a great version!! I LOVE having both!

Adywan did this, I believe it is SW Revisited. The originals will always be the best, but his turned out pretty darn good.

No I have Adywan and although it is great that's not what I mean. He went a step further and added his own changes. What I am saying is use the original edit but then add in some of the official SE stuff like the Jabba scene and some of the Death Star attack upgrades at the end. Also the upgraded Emperor scene. However Greedo shoots first and so on.

Re: Harmy's Star Wars Despecialized Edition Remastered- List in First Post!!!

I don't think there are many hybrids like that. There are conservationist versions, like we get with Harmy, then you have Adywan type ... but none like you speak of that I have seen. Doesn't seem necessary.

Well a lot of the fan edits aren't necessary but fun to have. :) The one thing I like about ANH SE is the Jabba scene. The reason being is because it was footage that Lucas shot back when but couldn't complete due to the lack of technology. Now the only way to see that scene is to watch the SE version which most of the changes I don't like. Now if you watch the Revisited version or the original edit, that scene is not there. I also like the scene of Biggs and Luke talking right before they head out to the Death Star. That is in Revisited and SE but not the original edit. So I think it would be nice to have a version that is a one stop shop. You have the best of both worlds in one edit so you don't have to switch copies to see what you want.

Re: Harmy's Star Wars Despecialized Edition Remastered- List in First Post!!!

He is messing with it again. Just minor things. Nothing amazing. And doing it Bluray format off the bat instead mkv to bluray

Need to know when he's done that so I can bug you for another copy. :lol

As for the previous conversation about what may have been good about the Special Edition of ANH; the only thing I really miss from the SE is the scene with Luke meeting up with Biggs before the attack on the Death Star. It makes the character's death actually mean something.
