I don't think Maul was given much credit. Sure he was visually menacing and had very few lines, but Lucas could very well have developed his character throughout the next 2 movies, granted if he still lived. Obviously he wouldn't be as elegant and cultured as Dooku, but he could have been cool and calculating; with the "unbridled rage" as something to fear, not an overwhelming part of his character.

I like both of them; while it would have been great for Maul to endure for all the prequals, we never would have had Dooku. Oh well--this is why I like Jedi better, ha ha ha!
