Has there even been a hint?

I'm hoping for a very cool Lotr PF. Gimli or Gandalf or aragorn.

As for 12inch line. I don't collect it but it would look cool to see a Fountain Guard or Gondor Soldier.

I'm really looking forward to the next PF announcement. From looking at the ?'s in the set-up, I may be disappointed though.

The LOTR lines are the most detailed they carry. The work we've seen in pics so far show just that. SS loves LOTR as much as we do so knowing they are going to be working on these lines and nailing what we saw on screen brings a warm feeling to my heart.

Sunday afternoon at SDCC:

3:00-4:00 New Line: Lord of the Rings— Find out the latest on upcoming DVDs and merchandise for The Lord of the Rings. Representatives from New Line Home Entertainment, Electronic Arts, and Sideshow Collectibles will be present with insight, sneak peeks, and Q&A. Room 5AB

I will be gone by then, but it would be great to be in on that discussion. If SDCC is going to provide any hints as to future LOTR products from Sideshow, that would be the time and place for it.

You're right Tom. That would be the best place for it. But what line could we get next from sideshow?

Hope they announce the new 1/4scale soon.

The "New Line" was a reference to the studio, not to a "new line" of products being revealed. But there might be a hint about what is coming up next with the LOTR figures and PFs. Even the smallest of hints would be enough to keep us going for a while! Something like this:

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ . _ _ _ _ a _ . _ _ _ _ _ _ _ a _ . _ _ _ _ _ _ a _ . _ _ a _ _

1/6 or PF would work for me(although I don't collect PF's....yet). I can't wait for SSC to unveal a 1/6 Hobbit, whew, that's going to rock!!!!

I prefer PFs over 12 inchers any day, and while I think the Star Wars license lends itself well to the "toy" feel of the 12" action figures, I'm not completely sold on the format for LOTR yet. I will decide after seeing them in person this week. (!)
So what did you think after seeing the 1/6 figures in person?

anybody has any idea when the next LOTR PF announcement will come ?
It has been ages since a new PF has been announced.
It's almost time to ship Lurtz and I can't wait for the next one !

I wish they had the same release rate as Star Wars !!!

I don't know what's up with this line. It's obviously on the back burner with how muchthe Star Wars line has taken off. I understand that's where the money is, but I am surprised it's been SO long between announcements.

While I am glad that LOTR, either the 1/6 or PF, don't have the same rapid-fire rate as SW, I am really hoping to hear something soon. It will take a loooong time to complete the Fellowship at this rate in either scale! I know Sideshow has to put more into developing these figures, but I would be glad to have an announcement soon!
