I guess these could be considered collectibles in the loosest terms.. To me the word collectable in the context of statues and action figures is something that is limited or rare.. When they first came out Hasbro gave the impression that would be the case but since then they have proven that's not the case by re-releasing the same figures over and over again.

It's hasbro, and it's star wars. I'm not certian why you were expecting something other than that. there has only been ONE instance of a popular figure not seeing re-release with them.

Hasbro has been marketing the 6" Black Edition Figures as action figures "For the Adult collectors", they said this over and over again in their advertisements and interviews... They gave the impression it would be different then their 3 3/4" line of action figures... but in the end their really not, other then being taller...

It's not a big deal, it's not like these are expensive or anything... Just a bit disappointed Hasbro didn't make them a true collectable.

I just looked at the silhouette pic. It kinda looks like Yoda has a snake wrapped around his neck like the original 3 3/4 figure. Looks like the tail on the right side. I will have to see this one but the Tie Pilot is a buy for me.

OK, this might not be the best comparison, but you get the idea..
the proportions of this figure are all over the place... body too big, head too small in proportion, etc.

I scaled down both Yoda pics so the head is the point of reference, now you can see how messed up this figure is...
How come Hasbro can make great 1/18 Yoda figures (not all of them but most) and screw up on the 1/12 scale?

I see what you mean.. sort of.

Maybe the articulation allows the figure to stand 'upright' as it were, so having him crouched may fix most of the apparent disproportion.

I beg to differ regarding their 4" Yodas being mostly great - no way.

Like I just said earlier - you've gotta customize heavily to get there.
