Re: Hasbro legends 6" sw figures

Got a new article up for the Black Series 4-Lom figure. Shout out to murderous protocol droids. https://toyswithtude.com?p=5786

Definitely a swap job. Very easy to do with these boxes unfortunately.

right. i definitely think that. but the timing of it being put out with a brand new case seemed like an unlikely coincidence unless it’s a Target employee who did it. and it just looked untouched. no finger print marks. whoever did the swap made it look authentic for no reason. it could have been untaped and a messy box yet Target would still return it.

They may have just happened to open some cases and put it up with swap Rey. Or they put them up at the same time from the return carts when they were stocking. Or there were full cases up with this Rey and someone bought another Rey before you got there.

People who take the time to swap these figures out tend to do a good job of it to try to avoid arousing suspicion and to make it look new and unopened. Doesn’t matter if Walmart or Target will take back a return that looks like it’s been mauled by a dog. Swappers are despicable but generally consistent in how carefully they swap figures out.

Sorry if I sound negative; I’m glad you got a figure you want out of it. I just really, really, really hate swappers.

Greedo has eggs for eyes though.:(

The 4-LOM looks very cool but is he a bit undersized?

Hah! I never noticed that, and I actually had a Greedo years ago!

4-Lom looks good to me, but you may be right there. The black series isnt exactly known for being really accurate with scale (I’m looking at you R2-D2 and IG-88!).

Still they look really nice in that pic along with mafex Fett.

Greedo's an amazing figure but it looked like something went wrong with the digital sculpt of the eyes and it was too late to fix it. I almost bought it then saw the little blue eggs and passed.

Yeah, I never got the love for the BS6 R2D2 - it looked to be almost 1/2" too small. Really hope they do a new sculpt of him or just scale the sculpt up a bit in future. He just looks a bit off with the others.

But yeah, you're right about the inconsistent heights - same issue with Gentle Giant's jumbo figs - some were noticeably too tall, others undersized. I sold blue snaggletooth because he looked like a big brother to the other figs.

Yeah well TRUs are history as far as finding SW, stopped by mine

Getting new product is over and one more week left until the end.

Everything is 60-80% off now too. But they have nothing good.

You didn't sound negative at all. And you are probably right. I guess the swappers i have seen mostly do sloppy jobs. But then again I haven't seen a ton, just a few on some Star Wars boards and they are usually ridiculously bad.

I hate these kind of things too, they should be ashamed of themselves for doing these this. Really sad individuals.

But the only reason i bought it was because i wanted this figure for displaying and it looked clean and untouched.

Honestly R2 was one of the most dissapointing figures in the line for me because of that. He’s waaayyy too small, I gave mine away to a friend at work and bought the revoltech one for the same price on Amazon. He looks soooo much better with the other figures!

I’ve noticed that on the Gentle Giant jumbos too. That combined with the severe over price completely turned me off to that line lol

I see it all the time with Marvel Legends, specifically the build a figure parts. It’s pretty sickening really :(

Those GG jumbo figs should have been $40-50, maybe less without the big packaging (though yeah, I get that's part of the appeal.) I would have bought most of them for that, even though quite a number aren't what GG said they were - 3d scanned and scaled up vintage Kenner figs. The sculpts are obviously very similar but if you compare side-by-side to the vintage figs they are really pretty different at times which is disappointing to me.

I wouldve bought them all at $40 a pop! Fett is the only one I could see myself spending anything close to retail on. I did score a Yoda and Gamny on impulse just because I found them for $30 lol Its a shame they dropped the ball on some of the scans though like you said.

Wow, my TRU is looking really sad now with all the empty shelves. I thought I'll go by there and give it a last look around but it's just depressing. Mine had signs saying they close in 13 days. Unlucky number 13.
I did pick up that Ackbar two pack for $12, yeah it's from TLJ and poor Ackbar is now as dead as a goldfish floating at the top of his bowl, but still a cool figure that I can imagine running around blasting baddies in my own "display shelf cannon". :lol
The other dude looks better out of the package too.

Some SDCC exclusives were announced a few days ago. I'm surprised they weren't discussed here already.

Han vs. Mynock.

This Han is confirmed to be coming in wave 18 (in July/August) by himself. Not sure if the standard release will include the air mask or Mynock though.

Moar pics in spoilers.

& a Centerpiece "Starkiller Base" set with a static rey and fully articulated Kylo figure.

This set even includes a light-up backdrop, and a water mister for steam effects. Pretty cool!

Really nice looking fig. Love the new style of paint. May wait until it gets released in the reg package. I don't need the big box and that premium price - I'm pretty much a 100% out-of-box BS6 collector.

And what's an "Exogorth"? Mynock?

EDIT: Just looked it up - it seems Mr. Titantic Space Slug no longer needs to be jealous of Ponda Baba and Momaw Nadon - he's gotten his own pseudo-legit sounding name.:lol

Exogorths would have been a cool scientific classification name for the Mynock but not sure it matches the space slug very well. Just doesn't feel like a fun "Marquee name" to me, but I guess it's better than space slug.:lol
