I am sure hoping if/when the vintage comes back, they'll do the classic packaging

Stand is cool and very sturdy, but it has the bike much higher up than seen in movie. Was hoping they would've done the same kind of stand they did for the 12" set years ago....

Found all of the Lost Wave except Jar Jar (suprisingly). Since I'm out of the SW action figure game, I passed on all of them. They looked kinda nice, but the photos looked hazy and maybe alittle blurred. I also don't understand the characters choices - two PT Clones, a Sandie, and the most hated character in SW? Leia and Vader are good choices, but actually look better on their TVC cardbacks. Can't help but feel like this was a big miss from Hasblow.

I hear you, Red Metal; I have often wondered as to Hasbro's thought process. I made the decision this year to collect carded figures from classic trilogy only - Did pick up that leia and vader on the vintage cardback design. Kinda wish I could open vader - looks like a nice updated version from a few years back

I never understood how/why Hasbro included Prequels, Clone Wars and Expanded Universe in the Vintage Collection with the Kenner logo. It just seems so wrong on so many levels.

I'm doing the same thing, sticking to the classics. Found an unpunched Sandtrooper to go with my collection. Would like to find one to open to display with my other guys.

For a loose Sandtrooper, definitely look for the ones from the Evolution sets; closest thing to accurate in that scale - the current releases are just stormtroopers with backpacks

That's true. When I did collect TVC, I mostly kept the OT stuff on cards and opened the PT figures. By that point in my collecting, I already had so many versions of so many of the OT figures, that when I bought any OT characters, it was really just for the cardbacks.

But I gotta say that one thing that really killed TVC for me was all those stupid Clones... well, and the distribution issues, the flimsier cardbacks that made it tough to find good MOCs, some character choices, etc.

How come ordering online seems not to be an acceptable alternative to those who can't find the stuff in stores? I long ago gave up trying to buy stuff in person, just too unpredictable.

From my experience, most of the online retailers either want you to order an entire case (which isn't great if you just want some of the figures) and/or they charge a lot more than retail. Ebay can sometimes be an option.

Thats true about the cases actually. BBTS used to be my go-to place for Star Wars but they've gone crap. Can't seem to get anything I want individually anymore. No interest in PT, Clone wars or EU stuff, or Darth Vader 613 and they always litter the cases with this stuff.

- Price can be too high, plus adding in shipping.
- Can't see the actual figure, so paint apps and bent cards can be a problem.
- Case assortments that make it not worth buying all the figures and making the new figures more expensive on the secondary market.
- Carry-forwards of weak or repetative figures.

Awhile back during the TAC days, Brian's Toys had a good "subscription" style promo where they would send you one of each figure for a set price per figure (and the price of each figure did not vary like it does now). It was great because back then people were trying to complete the coin album and it helped avoid dupes. Now the case assortments back then were alot more generous with more cases being two of each figure and carry-forwards of army-builder types, so it couldn't quite work as well today.

Hey guys - can someone please help me with a reliable answer to this quick question:

*Are the wings on the modern sculpt Hasbro X-wings, removable once snapped into place?*

I'm thinking of selling my Saga1 Red Leader X-wing - & for postage purposes, wouldn't mind being able to disassemble it.

Cheers in advance. :)

Well the OT wasn't "vintage" from 1977-1985 either. This new line is simply creating a uniform look with the packaging of figures for all six films.

Exactly. If you don't want prequel vintage, don't buy it? There were plenty of fans who DID want it and Hasbro was giving them what they wanted.

It also happens to be my FAVORITE looking action figure card back style alongside the 80s G.I.Joe figures.

Anyhoo... I picked up Aayla Secura (from amazon) since I never saw it at retail.

Prequels, OT, and EU were never on Kenner cards. I don't care about trying to make them look "uniform." Only the "vintage" Kenner figures (1977-1985) should be on the "Vintage Collection" Kenner cards.
