I can understand if the piece arrives broken since that's a factor that Sideshow has no control about but with all the QC issues, just unacceptable. I miss the days that you don't have to worry about QC when you order anything from them, where you get what you actually see or pretty freakin' close to it.

The wings, Primes legs and Scrooge were all because of the way they were packed. That foam they push onto the gaps on some statues broke all three of those. So yeah they can control some of it. SSC don't push large parts into small holes, it can be painful. :lecture :lol

Most especially if they push it in dry. :lecture
LUBE IT UP FIRST SIDESHOW!!! :rotfl

Hey Mamba, thats the 64 million dollar question in that do you return the body only to recieve an equally bad replacement if not worse. These QC issues are certainly infuriating for the collector and should be addressed. After all, we are loyal customers who are happy to part with our monies to get the best Sideshow products...i know alot of people who are refusing to buy SS products due to their ever decreasing levels of poor QC! Hope you get yours sorted and i pray that all those first inhand pics of The Hulk are 100% quality!

I actually looked at it very closely again 360 style lol I think I decided to keep the body, it's just a minor paint flaw here and there, it's not that bad, if I ask for a replacement, the replacement may come worse than mine. I think every single one of these will come with a minor paint flaw, maybe I was just being too picky. The head is actually really really good, they eyes are great and the skin color on the face is excellent. The only big issue on mine is the cracked on the base, which I already emailed Sideshow to send me for a replacement base.

Here are some pics of mine

Major scratches, dings, and chips on a near $400 statue is being too picky?

I don't know.. but the situation's never gonna change. Every single statue made will have flaws when you look up-close.

Personally I can accept small paint/minor imperfections(partial refund to keep the statue) but I can't stand breakage.

I seriously hope the issues aren't widespread. Sideshow really need to make a change with QC, it's becoming stupid.

Honestly guys, you're the only one who can change this situation. I live in Europe, if you think that the prices are high for you, imagine for us. And imagine what it means to get a statue after weeks or months and find out that it has scratches and various issues. And to have to pay for import duties and shipping to US to have a replacement (waiting maybe for other weeks).
I'm "glad" that, at least this time, you guys have shown indignation in front of poor QC, I remember that just a year ago there was a mindset like "well, the next statue will be better *shrugs*".
It's wrong to say "the situation's never gonna change", because yours is the only voice who will be heard - the US market is the biggest by far, so it's up to you to put pressure on Sideshow and let them know how disappointing is this QC that only seems to go deeper down at each release.

I definitely feel for our European friends. If I lived there, I would only buy previously opened/inspected Sideshow pieces, and preferably from other European sellers in case something goes wrong in transit. Just a crummy situation for you all with the import duties and no European distribution.

Well we just define flaws differently. I don't expect perfection. A little paint slop for example is fine. But I wouldn't accept scratches and chips. And maybe permanent change isn't going to happen at this point, but I will return a statue for a replacement or refund if I get something damaged. I suspect SSC's bottom line is going to be hurt more and more as they continue to fail to address these issues, and I hope this does happen in the sense that it would create an impetus for change. If folks remain satisfied with messed up products then surely SSC wouldn't change much. Even the customer service reps seem to have taken the attitude that you have. I e-mailed them about a statue's jacket sticking to the polystone, they said "try to cover it in baby powder." Someone else had a huge crack on a Joker and they said "try to glue it together." Seriously? Are we collecting $20 NECA figures or $300-400 high end statues? SSC has been more and more frustrating over the last couple of years, and seeing this problem on such an anticipated statue for me really gets my goat.

What happened to do the days of the Thor PF, Hulk PF, Captain America PF, Doom PF....such examples were just sheer poetry sculpting in motion, not a problem to be seen by the naked eye...talking of eyes, nowadays SS cant even get the eyes right on a face, one eye looking one way and the other eye looking in the other direction. Will those good old days ever return? I dont know but one thing i do know is that the prices to buy future statues will be going up and up and up! :gah:

That is well out of order. Like you say we pay top money and they tell you things like that? I'd tell them where they can stick the statue if they said that to me.

Amen Jay! :rock

In my opinion, those golden days with Marvel are too far in between from piece to piece. They tend to focus more on the products that are under the media spotlight or newer licenses such as the Avengers movie products & DC. Just my 2 cents.
