Headplay recast Rainman's monkey sculpt again!

Your reading comprehension needs improvement. Headplay is a thief as Rainman has asked him to stop. A customizer who is creating heads of people who may actually appreciate it is not.

At Costco, taking samples, without paying, doesn't make you a thief.

TO BE CLEAR: sculpting a head is not an illegal act. Not honoring the wishes of the person whom you've sculpted is. Get it?

Then have him call the police, boom! end of story. If this guy is selling to collectors via paypal, then his name, address, etc. are plenty available. If its illegal then he can reported to the Bay as well as Paypal. Or you can continue to whine and _____ and moan about everyone who doesn't 100% agree with your views.

Ironically, it's actually very helpful when people like mojo customz post comments like this that demonstrate so clearly what level of education and maturity they operate at. It surely helps the lurkers choose sides more efficiently.

rainman did not pay any license that is why he called this monkey sculpt and not by its real name clearly shows he knows what is is doing-----

So you guys don't see the hypocrisy of some of the freaks around here? Some of the biggest whiners about Rainman's heads being recast own unauthorized recasts. The Indy PF head illegally recast and resized to 1/6 and now in the collection of some of the people ranting about Headplay in this very thread was a perfect example.

the hypocrisy i think comes from the fact that they paid a whole lot of $$$$$ to buy the rainmans product and now the whole world has it for 20 bucks-----they will stay blind------------------

The best part of this is the people insulting headplay repeatedly in this thread with no proof. Since this thread has started Headplay has not had the monkey sculpt in his Bay store, not once. You can look back about 8 weeks before this thread started, not a single monkey sculpt sold. So, he wasn't selling this before the thread started, he wasn't selling this when the thread started and hes still not selling this. Good job indeed!

So let me ask this. If you were to sculpt or pay a sculptor to make a headsculpt of lets say, John Wayne, and then a month later find that headsculpt on eBay for sale, you would be ok with this? You would not feel robbed? You wouldn't blink an eye? Is that what you're saying?

Dan and Eric, I can appreciate your point but I really feel that there are three sides viewing this and the argument originally posted caused more confusion when there was no hard evidence posted in this thread to back it up.
I also don't see anyone starting a _______ recast Headplay sculpt with the Depp into Crow thread.
I don't want to see sculptors stop sculpting. You should both know better than that as I have done business with both of you. My postings weren't to condemn Rainman or Headplay. I read through the posts and saw nothing but accusations and circumstancial [at best] evidence.

The list of people that will never be allowed to participate in any custom commissions I host just keeps growing. Got about a dozen people now who support or sympathise with recasters that I will never ever sell a custom head to or allow on an interest list.

I hope that you are comparing that list to past customers, because there were probably a recaster or two in there.

You left out shortsighted. You have no way to tell who may or may not be a recaster. You're prejudging what you think people's intentions are by interpreting [or misinterpreting] their words.

Maybe this is beyond your capacity, but if I preorder the new Amazing Spiderman for $225, I get it I like it, a week later counterfeit ones hit the Bay en masse and are selling for $125. This has nothing to do with me, I could give a ____ less. I have what I paid for. I paid what I thought was fair. If Hot Toys thinks theres a problem I'm sure they'll look into the legality of whats up. Now, you can claim you're a polesquatter, but most people on this thread are saying at worse case that what people are saying is going on is the price of doing business as a customizer (including other customizers). No one seems to be outright saying yeah, its cool, rip people off. No one wants to see anyone ripped off, but when people offer a different viewpoint and you get people like DChung who just want to attack anyone that doesn't agree with him 100% and then you post like hes got his hand up your *** and your his puppet its hard to believe when you say you're not trying to condemn either of the parties that this thread is about.

I don't know if you are or aren't a recaster, I can't know that, should I give everyone a voight kampff test before I let them on an interest list or sell them a custom from my collection? I don't care how you discuss it but once you cross the line and basically say you don't care and would buy a recast head, then yes, I'm judging you and saying since I don't support it, I won't help you get a custom work. I feel it is a respectful way of supporting that artist and preventing it from falling into the wrong hands.
