My favorite Ledger sculpt of all time?

It's Yixie / John Wu's V1.

Though I haven't seen it painted / haired to perfection.

I can definitely see where you're coming from @Gipetto0812. As much respect and recognition as I have for Adam's work, those sculpts still won't keep me satisfied. Though there's no telling how far his work has come since. But I still regard him as a sculptor first, and a painter second.

But I don't fall on either extreme. I'm at a point where nothing from any company will satisfy for Ledger. It's just not happening (nor is it a realistic expectation) once you're well acquainted with the character.

It's the best one to date.

That is the one that brought me back to wanting a custom sculpt. It just captures Heath so well as the Joker.

You can want or prefer other expressions -- personally, I like teeth-on-my-Heath -- but that Johnwu/Yixie is perfection.

If I ever got one, I would consider my personal hunt complete.

Definitely! Not disputing that at all. But, again, all comes down to personal preference. I've been around since Adam started doing his Ledger customs oh so long ago adding just a bit of hair to fully sculpted heads for that extra bit of realism at the time. The main one I remember back in the day was his party scene Joker where I think he even made the shrimp on a stick He was definitely a head of his time though I think time has caught up with him and there are ppl equally as talented as him or at least close to it.

This is what I tried mentioning in my first comment. Yes, his old sculpts don’t hold up as well to today’s standard I agree, but trust me he’s still the best around. He doesn’t show anyone except close friends due to people copying his work in the past.

I'm not trying to be combative though and say one is right or wrong. I would hope that this conversation isn't cause for getting defensive as I'm not trying to argue. Again, just sharing a preference. Nothing wrong with having different opinions on the matter at all

I'm not saying there isn't a likeness in either of those sculpts. Again, the quality is for sure there - I just don't like either of those expressions. But, I think that's maybe where some confusion is? I may not like the expressions, but that doesn't mean I don't think they're very well done pieces. Like I said, they're just not for me.

I’m not trying to argue either. I respect your opinion, I actually like the original custom sculpt, but unfortunately Hot Toys had to butcher it. Doesn’t look the same anymore.

I think that’s where the confusion came from, sorry. I didn’t know you were talking about the expression. I thought you meant the overall likeness.

Oh, yeah, that's right. But I don't think my uneducated palette was ready for what could be at that time. Pretty sure they were sold out by the time I "got it".

Yeah Heise second headsculpt might be a good option for you Wor, it's not as good likeness wise but his painting skills should carry it to becaume a great headsculpt.

If only I got into custom jokers a few months earlier
I wish someone was selling their V1, I'd sell a lot of figures sitting on my shelf to fund it

Sorry fellas- I wasn’t trying to create any negative discourse.

I just know, for me, personally, I’d be content as far as headsculpts go if I had one of the official ones redone by Heise or John and that was all I was trying convey. Wasn’t trying to cause any problems. Definitely understand that there are ones with better likenesses and such, but the official ones would be enough for me if I got them redone
