Heise vs my Yuan. I don’t see to much difference.

Overall Heise is much much better.

His colors are more accurate.
Eyes are better executed and more realistic.
Hairline and colors of the hair are also better.

The black makeup was never pitch black, it should have some skin color poking through. Heise managed to replicate that perfectly.

Yuan is not bad by any means, but doesn’t quite compare to Heise.

Who’s work do you think this is ?

I agree because Heise is fantastic, but not 100% on the comment. Depending also on lighting eye makeup color is not so dark. Eyes in person looks like real ones. With natural light look less darker. And hair color look less or more green in the film depending on the light. Ok, if you are looking for a perfect “interrogation Joker” Heise is almost perfect (is his specialty) hairline, eye color and overall colors, but if you are looking for a more generic joker that works well with purple coat, Yuan seems more “flexible”. (For this they presented the proto with a purple coat). Here a picture with sunset natural light.

Still Yuan’s black is too dark. Darkness varies from scene to scene, but Yuan uses the same black for everything. Same goes for the red lipstick, too dark.

Look closer at Heise’s work, his eyes are more realistic and portray more life.

Yuan’s hair colors just aren’t that great, especially the blonde he uses. He also gives most Jokers a mullet.

They were both using the same reference image and Heise did a better job. Yuan should stick more to the source material.
If you want a more generic Joker you should go for a clean makeup look. Interrogation paint on a purple suit looks odd.

In my opinion both are different from the specific scene because wrinkles are different and the overall expression too. The only similitude is the black on the top of the eye.
The right sculpt for this scene is this one from Heise.

And also depends on light focal lens etc… could be more similar, like this picture.
With the correct light Heath Ledger is there…

It's nice. It used to be one of my favorites. But I've dived deeper with the character since, and I've trained my eye, and compounded with my OCD, I wouldn't get it now. It's not accurate. It's not the best you can get, nor is it worth the money.

I would simply avoid Yuan.
How much is Yuan charging anyway?

Great comparison pics.

On their own both looks great to me, but once you match it against the movie stills, you can really tell the accuracy of Heise's is almost perfect.
Exactly. I don’t hate Yuan, but if you care about accuracy Heise is the only option. Well worth every penny.

Heise is the best of the best no doubt about that, but if your budget don't allow it you can go for John Wu, when it comes to accuracy he's the second best.

But if you have the budget go for Heise not Yuan.

That’s the image the sculpt was based off and the image they both used as reference for painting.

It was never about the likeness, I can clearly see Ledger. I’m talking about the paint and hair and which is more accurate.
