Heck of a deal at Sideshow. Ignore, deal is different

Yeah, I’m happy for all those who wanted these figures and never got them and now can get them for free but it currently devalues them completely for those who paid the price which is sad which is why I’m more selective than ever.

That could be said for 99% of 1/6th figures.

Few old figures are worth anything. For the most part, the figures I most regret buying are anything Disney nuStar Wars (except RO).
I am amazed that I still see TFA figs (especially Finn and various troopers) in stock at certain retailers nine years after the movie came out. They are some of handful of 1/6 figs I've seen selling in the $100 range on ebay. The ship does seem to be sailing on D+ series figs including Mando, but that's because there's so many D+ series and so many figs.

It does seem that the OT figs have held up well in most cases - even SSC - even if the two most recent HT Lukes (Snowpseeder and to a lesser degree Bespin Luke) significantly upended that.

I've noticed a few HT Vaders coming down quite a bit in price too, but HT has now done soo many Vaders that was inevitable given most people don't care about the movie-to-movie variations and just want a Vader.

These are prime examples of over produced products , that relied on successful films....

That flopped .
Or they just were accustomed to people having covid money and when that stopped, they realized they ****** up royally by over stocking.

That would be the real kicker.

People lamenting on Sideshow's Facebook about the change of free figures are invariably met with responses from the typical Sideshow simps saying that Sideshow needn't give away free figures at all.
I mean, they're not wrong!

Although to swap it up random before the day is over is definitely a Richard-move... unless they sold out. I probably won't buy anything on this set of "Unsellables" unless they go higher than 40+% off and free shipping.

probably partly that. But, there are other factors as well. For example, had the Superman part of that two-pack been updated from previous release rather than just the same figure with a black suit and poorly wired cape, I can see that it would've sold better on it's own. Ppl would've wanted it for the updated head(s) and/or body to then upgrade the previous figures with and maybe would’ve bought multiples just to have those parts and sold the rest of what they didn’t need.

The swap from the DC 2 pack to boba was definitely a changeup on Sideshow's part. Something must have changed form the plan as the previous figures were offered for almost exactly 1 week and with Mando, they even had a banner letting people know that the offer was about to end. The DC 2 pack is still on the site so it didn't sell out. My hope is that they offer it again at some point, but who knows. I kinda wish they would have kept with it or they will offer it again on Black Friday or something. While the Boba 2 pack is an awesome deal, I suspect that anyone truly interested in this would have gotten the single pack boba a couple weeks ago.

I hear you. It seems the only third market figs I want are the expensive ones lol but in terms of Star Wars being a life long fan, I’m just like besides RO I’m only buying OT figures from now on.

If you sign up for a contest, you can apparently use the $25 coupon with the discounted items that are part of this promotion. Still can't pull the trigger personally but a hell of a deal.
