gunm, as far as I understand it, they want an entry to be something you just can't buy off the shelf. And even though you pieced together that Red Skull, its the same as if you had bought a new one. Had you dyed the uniform Green, I think that would count as its then altered and something you couldn't have just bought from a retailer. Does that make sense?

Yeah, no problem I understand. I built it ground up from parts and had to modify a different TTM body to get the head to fit as well as just used Cap's gloves since I didn't have RS ones, but it's no big deal to me. I pulled the entry regardless.

Didn't you enter Duke with the Exclusive Zartan head? :lol

Yes, and I got a lot of crap for it. But in the end, TA agreed with me. It may not have been the most elaborate custom ever entered, but it wasn't something you could straight buy. I took Zartan Parts and Duke Parts and make a Zuke. Thats why I'm trying to help gunm out by helping him understand. He did put in quite a bit of work into putting his Red Skull together, but it came across as a straight HT Red Skull figure in photos. I think everyone ought to explain their process and what's in the custom, etc to help everyone fully understand what was done, because, clearly, photos don't always tell the whole story.

Yes, we like it when the process and/or formula is included with the entry along with the name of your entry. Some are more obvious than others as to what there name is.

To clarify regarding Gunm's entry, we would have probably reluctantly accepted it, but encourage more elaborate customs or modifications. If it were a different version of Red Skull, it would have been more appropriate. Bottom line though is the contest is to encourage the custom figure hobby and to bribe you all to post pictures of your customs and to generate conversation in our thread. Gunm, it was a success, though not the most positive of conversations :lol

Here's another question for you all. Would you prefer more POPO's (pre order part outs) or do you prefer us have more available when they are in stock. We order a certain amount of each Hot Toys figure, and if we offer POPO's, we'll have less available once they arrive and further down the road.

Also, regarding POPO's, are you OK with us having the "No Pic" pictures for the parts. It's a pain to crop the photos as Hot Toys does not offer very high res photos to work from.

This is not to say we are definitely going to offer more POPO's, but in the case we do, this information will be helpful.

And, upcoming... a new POPO :wink1:

i like being able to get the parts i need, right now...i hate waiting even longer to pre order something..but in a pinch...it wouldnt be so bad..you guys know me and what i like(That sounds wrong)....lol...
as for the pics...sometimes for me at least, i need to see a good pic(like what you take) of what im getting..just to make sure it's the right item that i need or want...especially if it isnt star wars and im not 100 percent sure as to what it looks like..does that make sense? lol...

Prefer more when they are in stock so I don't have to pay for them up front and then wait months (i.e. DX Bespin Luke) for the parts to come in. Also, there should be more limits placed on how many each customer can buy so you don't have one person hoarding all of the good parts.

I love POPOs personally, but I can understand how they might be harder to do because not all of the details about a figure might be known at the time (ie not having neck joints on DX Jack) but would think for the most part they work out just fine :D

^^(to kl241) yea..like the clone upper chest pieces..you know how hard those are to find? too hard....also end up seeing a lot of that HTF stuff on ebay and way elevated prices..hate that...

Unfortunately, we can't limit them per customer over time, just per order meaning we can stop someone from ordering more than 1 or 2 in one order, but they can order again next time we restock. Frankly, rarely do we have any one person buy a larger quantity of one item.

You know the answer to your question, I don't :pfft:
