Also guys, there still may be some checkout issues. We can only apologize for this until they get it fixed. We have them looking into it. If you do have issues, PLEASE send us an email at [email protected] to report what went wrong.
Thank you for your patience!

Just letting you know that you guys are awesome. I was trying to place an order yesterday and having trouble with the crossover to PayPal and you guys were very responsive and got the problem fixed because I was able to place my order this morning and have it go through just fine.

Thanks again to Dan and all the people at TA. :D

Thank you for that! For someone (Me) that doesn't actually know a whole lot about web design, this was a trial of my patience for sure! But, things seem to be settling in, and working well. There's still some cosmetic and quirky stuff that bothers me, and hopefully will be fixed over time, but at least the important stuff is working! I hope everyone approves of the changes and that your shopping experience continues to be a positive one!
Thank you all!
Dan

When did Marty go up? Friday?

New site looks great by the way. Is there anyway to see figures or parts that got sold out in a physical link? Like they're still on the site with it's own page within the store, but listed as out of stock? I've always disliked how they just disappear when there's a chance they can come back in stock.

Hey guys. I wanted to address this earlier, but well, I was kinda busy :wink1:
The reasons we do not show old product are these; 1, there are over 32,000 products on our site, but only a small percentage of that is actually in stock. To show all the product all the time would severely clutter up the site. 2, to show all the old product also means that all the old prices would show. Do you really think we'd sell a Hot Toys Blade head for $30 buckaroos these days? I think not. We cannot go in and adjust all the prices to what we think they'd sell for in today's market, and if we leave them alone, well, people would be clamoring and emailing and calling for us to get them back in stock because of the ridiculously cheap prices.

That all being said, and NO PROMISES, but what do you think about a parts archive website you can visit to see all our old parts pictures? I've thought about this for some time, but am concerned about a few things. 1, the whole clamoring and emailing and calling for us to have these items back in stock, and 2, though it is already possible, I don't want to encourage people to "use" our images to sell their own products on their websites and/or Ebay, and there's no way I'm going to go through and watermark all of those old pictures. I know it can be done in batches, but many of the pictures are too small, and the watermark just ruins them.

I have already done some research on this, but any thoughts from the community?

I think you pretty much answered your own question on 2 points: 1. People will be requesting sold-out parts that may be unattainable and 2. People will try to use old images for ebay listings and such. I think you could still show inventory items that are currently out of stock that you anticipate replenishing that way buyers can still see which parts were available and likely to become available again but once an item is completely sold out it should basically be "retired" and removed from inventory searches so there's no question about availability and if by some chance you obtain more through trades you could always "un-retire" it and add the parts back to the site's inventory.

ive got to see the new site with all of the old, out of stock stuff on it....it was a mess....lol..it would drive people crazy or they'd want it all...like i did...;)
ive seen the site that Dan is talking about doing..it's cool and has potential....but like he said, there are some "risks" about doing that....

Re: Toy Anxiety, incoming!!

Personally, I don't see the point. What does it matter what used to be in stock? The prices will be outdated and there's a big chance if it's older and sold out it's gone for good.

And I'd go crazy LOL! We don't have control over which ones show and which don't. It's all or nothing.

It makes no sense to clutter the site with out of stock items. Leave them in limbo. You can google those parts anyway.
If there is an option to, I'd prefer t see the entire site in the normal web version when browsing on my phone.
Personally, I tried a couple of times to check out the night the new site went live and couldn't check out. I have also had several repeat "we notice you added items to your cart and didn't check out" emails. Even though the items I tried to buy aren't in stock.
So if I might suggest that something can be done to stop those emails if an item isn't in stock any more. Each morning I get that same email with a link to the items which *were* in my cart but are now out of stock because someone else bought them.

The only thing we can control is the frequency of the emails. Right now it's set for 1 hour, 24 hours later and a 48 hours later, then they stop. It is a marketing tool that is boasted to increase revenue, but I also wondered how annoying it would be. Apparently it can't tell when an item is out of stock when sending the email, and we don't have control over that. I'm going to remove the after 1 hour email, so you'll only get 2 from now on.

I'm going to put in a suggestion to Bigcommerce that Abandoned Cart messages should take into consideration whether the items are still in stock, because yeah, that would be annoying.

It sends annoying e-mails when you leave items in your cart? Seriously?!?! :horror That's really annoying. I liked the old site better. Easier to navigate and easier on the eyes when browsing. Black makes everything harder to see. If it ain't broke, don't fix.

I write e-commerce e-mails for a living. You would be amazed at how constant e-mails increase sales. I send 4 e-mails per week, and sometimes struggle to come up with fresh and interesting things to say, but every Monday, I come in and my boss tells me how great a weekend we had.

:)

It WAS broke, that's why we switched!!!! The admin side of that site was horrible, and people were getting declined charges for absolutely no reason.

Where's your sense of adventure :wink1:

new site looks good, but I can't seem to find a link to go to a full web version. That would be handy. Also, I know I mentioned this before, but if at all possible as an added option, in maybe a pull down menu, it would be handy to search "head" and be able to see all items in the search on one page, even if you have to change the amount to be viewed like was available previously.
Another thing that would be handy would be is the site remembered your search preference(Relevance, A-Z, price low-high, etc). As it now(I have no idea if it's a glitch or not), when you search it groups it by "relevance", and you see the same item showing up as you crawl through the pages. If you reorder it by A-Z, it clears that up, but the default seems to be relevance.

I would like the site to once again list the total number of items found when you do a search so you know how many you will need to surf through.

That would be handy too.
