So I was about to order the 1989 Batman Dx 09, since the Batmobile should be here on Friday. Now since I just started collecting hot toys, I don't know how many figures of what have came out. As of now I have only Hulk, Bruce Banner, Thor, The Tumbler and soon Batmobile. Now I know the dx 09 would be a great choice for the BM, and it's around $300 if you get a good deal. I came across a thread about the Iron Monger, which Looks beautiful. I seen some selling for 600 brand new. Now my question is should I pull the trigger and just order Batman or wait a little more and get the iron monger. Who has both and if you had a choice which one would you buy.

Forgot to mention I have Whiplash mk2 pre order , I would eventually get an Iron Man And War Machine. HELPPPPP! lol:gah:

Well your name is Batman and you've ordered the Burton Batmobile.
You have to have an 89 Batman to go with it ! (unless your plan is to wait for the upcoming Returns figure)

...also, your collecting method seems to moving toward just buying awesome stuff randomly and that's a very slippery slope we all go down when starting this hobby :D

Yes I love batman, but love all super heroes over all and action figures . I was thinking of waiting for the returns version, but no word on release yet other than pics might be a while. I have the neca 1/4 which is way off on scale and a takara Begin. Do you guys think Iron Monger is a better decision. Last thing what do you mean by slippery slope lol.

Any member that has been collecting for a while will tell you the same thing.

Its all about priorities. Also, its best to have some focus on your collection. Saying your collecting Comicbook movie characters only is a broad range.

You have 2 1/2 Avengers and 2 Batmobiles. If Batman is your favorite character, i think your priority is to get Batman first.
I personally suggest waiting for the Returns version. It might come with a Keaton head, and its worth the extra wait to see if it will. HT will 100% release it, so rest assure... it will come. The DX09 has been out for 2 years, it won't get any more expensive then it currently is (HT made plenty of them). Get the Returns version for RETAIL price. Just be patient.

Getting an Iron Monger as a standalone will be wierd. It'll look cool as a standalone at first, then your gonna get itchy fingers. That will lead to an Ironman to accompany Monger. Then you'll have 3 Avengers, which will lead to collecting ALL the Avengers (some you might not even like). Its a downward spiral like that aka Slippery Slope.

Just tread with patience... its not a contest (unless it is !!!).

Yes I get what you're saying , I'm planning to get the main avengers...As for iron monger I think the longer I wait the more it'll cost as, for Batman I could wait to see if returs is announced in the next couple of months I seen that the Iron man mk3 Diecast is coming out next year I might go for that one , so i have time to save. Captain America I'll get the avengers version since it'll be cheaper because of the new release. I think iron monger would look great next to hulk for the mean time I think lol

I guess when you first start out it's all pretty daunting. :lol

My advice would be to first understand the market - do some research. Get to know what's out there, what's worth your money - then see what fits into your focus.

If you're just firing off purchases left right & centre.. it's really your own fault when you're stuck with a plethora of **** & you don't even know why you bought it in the first place. :lol

Good luck. :duff

I started with batman and got almost all figures and villians. I then moved on to star wars and almost caught up minus a couple more figures. Now catching up on marvel. Focus first, but if a deal pops up grab it. Get the keaton bats since you have the batmobile coming. Make a check list and prioritise. Keaton bats is not going to get cheaper. A must have imo.

I am up to over 100 figures and started collecting last year and as previous stated I fell down that slippery slope. But a great ride so far. My kids will inherit all of them. They love 1/6 figures and vehicles.

Ahh yes the memories of when we started. My suggestion would be get the Monger. HT will release a returns line so no need to pay aftermarket prices on the current Keaton Batman.

Be patient. playing catch up with older established collectors is a very expensive endeavor. Look forward with upcoming figures and don't just snatch up every HTs figure.

Lol I know guys is just every other figure I see I want , I guess that's bad Im really impatient. I'm not buying every single one just the one's that I really like . I like all predators aswell, but those could really wait . I was about to snatch Ed 209 , but started to read how the rubber top piece could deteriorate with time so I passed...but yes this is my most addicting hobby so far Damn, lol:gah:
