I have an animated Medicom Spiderman whose leg broke yesterday when I was trying to repose him. I know this has happened to others and it seems like it is a fixable problem. I would consider just selling him but I paid $140 and don't think I would be able to get that back since he is now broken. So to fix him I am looking for some suggestions. First off it is the left leg that broke on mine. Is this the same leg that broke on others or have some had broken right legs? Where should I unstitch him at? there are 2 areas I am considering: the stitch on his butt or the one on his back up by his head. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

This seems to happen alot.....most unfortunately just look for another red body on eBay....

I want my Medicom Animated Spider-Man! :monkey2

USPS or Canada Post better not have lost the package in the mail. I been wanting this figure for sometime now.

ARGH!!!

Well add yourself to the list. :monkey3

This has to be the one Medicom figure that has the most problems. I've heard more stories about people having breaks than with any other Medicom figure.

My Spidey broke at the shoulder.:monkey2

It's too bad cause this is one of Medicom's best figures ever. :(

I wouldn't know because I still don't have my Medicom Spidey yet. :(

Good luck fixing you Spider-Man figure. If you don't want to go that route why not try contacting Medicom. Some people on the Med-World board have had success getting replacements for broken figures. If all else fails many people, including me, will be waiting in the wings to buy Spidey if you want to sell.

Luckily mine hasn't had any issues... but I really haven't posed him too much. Guess I'll have to continue to be careful with him.

Sorry to hear that. Apparantly Medicom Comic Spidey is prone to breakages and what makes it worse is the way the costume is sealed .

I'd personally recommend taking out the body by unsealing the seam that runs from the neck to the back before the back spider logo.

You can replace the leg or the hip by getting a spare body.

To seal the suit back up is a problem.

You can either sew it back(but you need to clamp the suit together while sewing) or you can use a fabric glue and do it slowly and carefully.

Yes I hope your Medicom Animated Spidey gets resolved. As for mine, I got a slip in the mail saying my carrier missed me today and I can pick up the parcel tomorrow after 1 PM! WooHoo! I think it's for my Spidey! :D

Thanks Alice Adrenochrome for the link.
Eli26 be careful with the legs! I am someone who is very careful with all of my stuff and this snapped easily. I didn't have any problems when I first got him. He had been in th same pose for awhile and I decided to try to change it and thats when he broke.

I haven't decided what I am going to do yet but I think I am going to unstitch him on his back up by his neck so I can slide the whole body out. I am thinking of trying Velcro to seal it back up (don't know how well it would work though). Then if he breaks again I can get the suit off. Anyone know of anything better than velcro?

I took off his costume today. I unstitched him in the back up by his head. I had to undo more than I thought. I have also glued the broken piece back together. I will just have to see if it will hold up. Also I believe I am going to try using velcro to seal him back up. This way if he breaks again I wont have to unstitch him again. I will post pictures tomorrow so if anyone else has problems maybe they will help.

Thanks for the polite concern and warning. I just got my Medi Spidey and I would hate to have a broken product on my hands. I don't think I have the guts to do what you did to fix the problem. As an artist I have a steady hand, but even with that said, I don't think I could bare the idea of messing him up more. If it was a 20-30 dollar figure... Sure, but this is a figure in the 100-150 dollar range.

I hope everything works out well for you bud. Let us know what the end result is.

Well his leg is back on and he seems to be good.

This is the piece that broke:

I just glued it back together and put it back in his butt (unforunatley for spidey that is where it goes.)
This is how I opened the suit up:

I am going to stitch the sides of the suit so it wont split open anymore. Then I am going to try putting velcro on his back and the a piece on each side of the costume to seal him back up. Hopefully it works as I think it will.

And to leave off for now:

Sorry for never finishing this thread. I did not stitch him back up. He is back in his costume and what I did was place a piece of velcro on his back and then the suit stuck to it. Basically this was just and easy fix because if he breaks again I would hate to have to unstitch him again. You cant really tell from the front that anything is wrong.
