I heard about that yesterday on the news, its just crazy. It's these sorts of religious extremeists that make the world ******ed up.

I am not a very religous person. I understand that religion has a possitive impact on lots of lives. I just can't understand it when the table is turned. I just don't see how people believe that any religion would tolerate some of these types of actions. This has been going on since the beginning of man kind. People killing over religion. You would think we would have wised up by now.

Exactly! I have read the Qu'ran many, many times, and not once have I ever felt the need to do any kind of harm to any individual. As a matter of fact, it's always been the opposite. How people are able to justify these killings and refer back to the Qu'ran is beyond me.

I am sure some people may think all Muslims are bad. But I don't think it's any more people that may think all Christians or Catholics or whoever is bad. I think sometimes too the media asks stupid people their feelings on the matter. They can look at some of these people and know what type of response they will get.

there are so many different muslim divisions i find it hard to understand all the suttle differences. seems iraq is now full of the extremists but they are making their way west. i belief many are hanging in canada unfortunately, maybe waiting for activation. i hope you've bought some defense because you may need it sooner than you think.

Whether they believe it or not is irrelevant. They are individuals, not scriptures. Their scriptures don't endorse or condone their actions. They are at odds with their religion, but no one ever reports it that way. It's always "but they believe it", thereby inferring that there is something in the doctrines of their religion that encourages their behavior.

I was thinking the same thing the only difference is this act was done by a man. I highly doubt if the father of those kids would have drowned them if he would have gotten the same verdict.

This comes down to domestic violence that happens to be attached to a Muslim. If it would have just been a non Muslim father killing his kid which happens all the time would we be talking about it. Maybe but I don't think we would in the context we are now.

And on Andrea Yates I am of the school of thought anyone that would drown their children is insane Sane people do not do that kind of thing. It shouldn't however stop them from being punished to the full extent of the law.
