It's actually pretty safe... just avert your eyes whenever Shai posts! j/k

I wont mind if Shai has tons of his girlfriend there... actually, I think I just found my reason to look at that thread lol

I haven't even seen the second one so I have no idea what's going on in this thread. Luckily I was on my mission before Revenge of the Sith came out, so it was a completely spoiler-free experience. But then, I did miss seeing Return of the King in theaters. That was too bad.

I hope you didn't get anything ruined by the thread Dusty--I didn't know you were avoiding spoilers so much on this film! My sister is insanely smitten with Johnny Depp, so she will literally kill anything that ruins the surprise for her.

heyy anyone feel like linking me to the "What do you look like thread"? Theres so many places that thread could be and so little patience to look for it.

Wow--I just saw some Pirates pictures and thought I would show Dusty.

Apparently she is avoiding them and I lured her into a spoiler thread with a non-specific title. My mistake!!

However, I didn't think these were really spoiler pictures--just movie stills showing the same characters we saw in the recent posters that were revealed. It shouldn't exactly come as a shock to us that Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth appear in a scene together with the ocean in the background...

:D

However--Dusty, I'm sorry if I spoiled anything for you!! I just thought you would be excited to see some new pictures. I will be more careful next time and I promise not to PM you a copy of the screenplay.

:lol No problem Tom, I scrolled by them really quick, so it's all good - I know your heart is in the right place ;) But I'm definitely trying to remain as spoiler-free as possible for this one - I am even going to try to avoid trailers of any type (TRY is the key word there - haha).

I dunno Dusty, with the amount of marketing and advertising this movie will have in the lead-up, you'll be doing damn fine to go into the cinema a "spoiler-virgin"..:monkey5 ( I think that's a word..:D )..It means, to go into a movie without having been "spoilered.."

I wonder if we will see a Pirates Trailer with the Super Bowl today. I know there was one last year and yet we still haven't gotten ANY trailer yet. I wonder if the rumors are true and that there might not really be any sort of "trailer" at all?

Nah, I just talked to one of my friends who works at one of the effects companies working on the film (Digital Domain) and she said there was definitely going to be a trailer. I still think it would be a great experiment to NOT do a trailer or TV spots until after opening weekend, and see how many people show up at the theaters that weekend. If opening weekend wasn't so ridiculously important in Hollywood (and really, WHY is that? I would think longevity would be more important), that would be a good plan. Oh well, if it comes on during the SB, I'm averting my eyes, and wearing 'earmuffs'! :D

I think the reason the first few weeks are so important is because isn't that when the studios make the most off ticket sales. After that don't the theatres get a bigger cut? I thought I read that somewhere.
