damn you Loki, why must you take me away from my t.v.!
Pro's
-Great-bright picture
-great blacks
-ton of options to customize the picture
-it's shiny
-GREAT PICTURE
-PRICE
-SD material looks really good(but let's face it LCD's aren't made for SD material)
Cons
-Glare is there (but not bad since the screen is so bright)
-it's shiny so you have to keep it dusted
-it's not 52"
-the speakers won't win any awards(but pretty good for an LCD)
Well i love it. The only worry I had was the glare(as opposed to the 4661 matte screen) because I have 2 good sized windows on both sides of the room facing the t.v. I have to say I'm keeping it in spite of the glare. Actually where the t.v. sits off the ground the windows do not come into view too much and at night the lamps do not really hit it straight on either. Plus the screen is so bright the glare isn't bad when it is shining on the screen. I do not watch too much t.v. during the day so and I when I do watch movies i want the t.v. with the better blacks(4665 has deeper blacks than the 4661). there are a ton of options on the settings so you can change the set up to get it to your liking and the t.v. saves the settings for each "source" (Comp 1, Comp 2, HDMI 1, etc.), which is great. i have not seen any artifacts or pixelation on anything I have watched. i watched about 10 football games and they all were perfect but there was some ghosting in the East/West Army All-star game....i think it was the source and not the t.v. though because I have not seen any ghosting on any game or anything else I've watched other than an old, old Hitchcock episode on Chiller channel. the Xbox 360 looks incredible on it with slight to no motion blur (there is a game mode but I do not use it) and no ghosting/bleeding at all.
you can turn the blue light that is under the Samsung logo on or off or on only during certain functions. I can't say enough good things about this t.v., especially considering the price. The speakers are pretty good, not great...not very deep sound compared to my rear projection t.v. but then again they shouldn't be and I only turned them on once to see how they sounded because I use my receiver for sound.
the t.v. swivels which I love because if i'm sitting on the right side of the t.v. I can swivel it to be straight on with where I am sitting. the viewing angle is great too. seems to be about 30-35 degrees but isn't bad or anything outside of that...and since you can swivel the t.v. on it's base it isn't a problem at all.
I cannot wait to use a Avia DVD to calibrate it even further.
I would say if you lose sleep at night if there is even the slightest bit of glare then go for the 4661 but for me i wanted the best picture when i watch movies or shows at night. actually ever since LCD came out I was looking forward to ending glare and I figured I would send this back because of it but well.....I'm not....it's all mine...mine, mine, mine.
off to watch the BCS Championship game now!
Loki, if you have any questions on something I didn't cover ask away.
