Movie Figures has been around 2 years now. I started the company because at that time I found it difficult to source a number of brands in this country. I didn't like buying from abroad and worried about a lot of eBay sellers that were individuals as opposed to genuine companies. It has taken us a while to get the margins on the likes of Sideshow and Hot Toys that let us compete with large resellers. But we're pretty competitive and offer to price match any company that is holding stock in the UK of an item we do.
So why consider us over just price?
Firstly you can call us. Sounds daft that, but have a look at some other resellers. Phones aren't listed on some and neither is address. You have to wonder why. Ours is 01525 552212. If we're not around, just leave a message and that forwards straight to wherever I am and I'll call you back. You can of course email us too. Using the general
[email protected] email is best as that's checked by several people. I do my best to personally answer as much as I can.
We're a genuine limited company registered at Companies House who is also registered on the ICO for data protection. That means we're committed to protecting your personal data securely. Something that your average personal Ebay user doesn't have to do. It also means you have a company you can legally chase if you ever need to do so.
We pack up items really well and mark them clearly with fragile tape. Here's an example how we box a Hot Toys item. Note, we put a box around the brown shipper and mark it really well as fragile:
We can ship next working day. We can source way more items that we have time to list, so if you're looking for a new item let us know and we can check our sources for you. We specialise in brands like Sideshow, NECA, Hot Toys, DC Collectibles, Attakus and Weta.
More importantly, if things aren't right we work hard to sort it quickly and professionally. I'll give you an example: Occasionally, items run into bad batches and manufacturer QA fails. I had one collector once who got a limited edition statue from a major manufacturer that is normally excellent on QA but this piece had a number of faults. We worked with a distributor and explained it was important this collector got a good one. They had to inspect 7 items before they got a good one. As the guy was 20 mins drive from me, I personally took it to him and rotated it and made sure he was 100% happy. He was. We made a loss on that sale when you factor in the time and travel. But as far as I'm concerned, the product wasn't right and it's our job to make sure it is. Such things happen rarely, but when they do, nothing is more frustrating to a collector. Our job is to take that frustration away and make you happy with your item.
