Why does it look like that Trevor recast you painted has an elongated jaw line? Did the recaster not recast it properly?

The elongated jaw line would seem to emphasize that it isn't an original cast. Not poisoning your thread. If you are unknowingly painting recasts, I should think that is something you would want to be aware of since doing so can be a permanent ban.

The original color is grey.
Anyone who owns an original cast (I own one) can tell just by eyeballing your picture that it is recast.

Now you know. You also now know that future heads from that particular client may also be immediately suspect.

But some recasters have and it was implied that this Dexter came from Odell. I just wanted to sound a warning bell for Hidden Jitsu in case he was being caught unaware.

As far as i know it is 100% original and i'm just the painter so please

how would anybody know?
What colour should they be?
There is no way of knowing unless i have seen an original cast.

Well i did take the picture sort of from above and not straight on to give that sinister type of look.
I would like to see pics of an original please.

I don't know but like i say i only paint them and it is not my position to
question my customers legitimacy of the sculpt involved.

As this could turn from a painting thread into a witch hunt which we could do without.

Also is there anywere on this forum regarding painters being banned for painting recast's?

Also perhaps a thread showing original sculpt's would be an idea so us and other members know what to look out for when buying and painting?

Thanks for the heads up but i think a PM would have been sufficent enough.
Anyway regarding these heads i have sent them all back to Odell as i would not want people to think i have my hand i recasting or anything liek that.

Damn dude... Give him a break, didn't SilentSurfer have a headsculpt recast sent to him recently? You gonna ban him too? What about Ski, I'm sure one time or another happened too. From what I know it was still painted by SilentSurfer; yes in diddy cause he was commissioned to. Jeez talk about f'n trolling.

Well i hope so buddy , also i would like to say SORRY! To you JON and anybody else waiting for painting.
As life tends to get in my way a lot and this month has been no exeption.
Just day to day struggle's and what not.
Also trying to paint in this heat is terrible as the paint just dries so quickly clogging the air brush and what not.
But we will get there in the end.

He painted a recast. He admitted it belonged to odell. I was trolling odell not jitsu. Sorry y'all are more interested in trolling me than actually reading what I wrote. Also, way to jump in on a conversation that was over and done a week ago. Truly effective defenders of jitsu's integrity.

Thanks a lot buddy but it does put a downer on you when your trying you best to do work for people whom want and need it.
Especially when you have life to deal with and family to look after.

But never the less let's get back to work and paint some stuff

As far as I know there is no worry of painters being banned for working on recast work. The concern that Dave posted was regarding painters who after receiving a head from a customer recast it and sold copies.

And as has been said here, it's not always possible to know the origins of an item sent to you.

Although I would agree about not associating with Odell or any of the known recasters... likely they might use your paint work to promote the sale of recasted items. Again, nothing you would have done was in the wrong, but you'd unfortunately get associated with them.
