I guess Ive just been spoilt all these years, invariably Ive used Sideshow Collectables or Forbidden Planet when placing orders for Collectables. Who allow you to cancel and dont hit you with "fees"

Ive placed 3 orders with www.toys2.net

A HT Joker 1/6th (delivered)
A HT Ironman Mk III (preordered)
A HT Ironman Mk II (preordered)

Unfortunately due to overspending I find myself unable to afford the Mk II so I sent them an email requesting that they cancel my order.

I was hit with a 10% cancellation fee, maybe they should create a waitlist system like Sideshow

That way us dithery collectors who make impulse buys and then have the internal struggle of "I cant afford it" "I can afford it" have better options

After this order I doubt Ill use them again, I like the safety net of being able to cancel without being stung !

yeah agree,however,Toys2 did have a waitlist on v1 Joker because of the high demand, but that was it.

Im just spoilt, the more I look at the quality of service both before and after with SS the more I realise how good they are, and apart from the slowness and lack of updates from Forbidden Planet they are reliable too

Ive had 1 button missing when it arrived and one fall off my HT Jokers waistcoat the one I bought from toys2.net, I didnt send an email to them

as I expect they wouldnt do anything about it,

Im making presumptions I know,

but I presumed Id have no problems cancelling an order with them either !

Well people working at Toys2.net seems lazy, sometimes you need to send 2-3 emails saying "Did you get my email 3 days agoo" and THEN they might answer, off course, its not always like that, but its often.
They replaced a Pirates of the Caribbean sword scabbard for me once,so they want to help you as long as you push them with emails.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

It's in the FAQ. you should have read it.

FUQ U nash you condescending toss pot and thx for the bump

You see I dont need to keep any mistakes Ive made to myself, I can post them on here to give a heads up to anyone who might follow suit.

You on the other hand wont and shouldnt because the amount of gloating and derogatory posts youve done on this board, over other people, would mean youd be looking at a 15 page thread of :

Yeah they do mention it almost everywhere at Toys2 but I must agree it will make things worse for repeat business I assume. Bad move on their part. I too would prefer preordering from a place without penalties.

Sorry to hear.

Most online stores do have cancellation fees so yeah you should kind of check before placing orders.

Yeah, not too uncommon to have cancelation fees at online stores... I try to only order something from a retailer if I'm 100% sure I'll be getting it and can afford it.

Also, being a smaller business they are dealing (I assume) with slimmer profit margins then Sideshow so its a bigger issue if you cancel on Toys2 then Sideshow.

Most of these online guys do have cancellation fees, but as you said, the more you deal with SSC the more you see how together their act really is. This is were SSC shines! The figures are good but not always great and the buck sucks but the customer service can't be beat! Whenever i have an option to order from them instead of the online guys (no matter how reliable), I ALWAYS order from SSC, even if they are charging more. Too bad they haven't landed the license to distribute DC stuff cause they would get my money there too.

I've got the TDK Bats on order at T2 and i've gotta admit i'm not hearing good things about them...i think my biggest worry is waiting for the figure to arrive from them weeks after the rest of the freaks have theirs...Oh and the responses to emails suck balls

I prefer to order from toys2,my figures arrive, and they declare a lower value on the package so i avoid custom fees,so that way im happy with them, they just need to do better on answering emails.

i agree that Toys 2 sucks balls. i haven't had a bad transaction with them, but as a paying customer i expect courtesy of a email replying to one that i send, and follow up emails in regards to manufacturer delays. even though cancellation fees are floating around most of the vendors now a days, i found that if you email them and remind them that you are a repeat customer that sometimes they will waive it with hopes of keeping me. (Razorsedge for example, love Mike and his awesome CS) i got hit by the Toys2 cancellation fee with the HT appleseed figures because i preordered them and after re-reading the information i found out that it was a preorder for the 2nd wave of them. granted it was my fault for not seeing it, but it was buried in the description and not up top where it belongs. because of this they gained my 10% restock fee, but lost me as a potential customer forever.

That is why when you preorder with them, use Money Order/Check as a option. Then once it comes in and you still want it, call em and give them your credit card info, that is what I always do.

Yeah Toys2 cancellation fees do suck. They made off with a total of $70 with me so far due to my cancelling my orders. (yeah I read the FAQ) but still, why so much? I opted to just order from BBTS..they dont have cancellation fees for pre-orders.

same with alter ego they hit me up with 10% cancelation fees , ordered regular joker but now i want the B.R. joker so it feels like i just gave them 30$ for free sanama itch

Nowadays, anything that's not a 100% sure purchase I pre-order from either BBTS or Sideshow. I've had to pay those BS fees at both Toys2 and Alterego and giving them money for nothing was a bitter pill to swallow. Restocking fee my ass.

Store policies are stated on the site if not even required that you acknowledge them before you place your order. Don't like a site's cancellation policies then purchase elsewhere or be sure about what you're buying before you click that "process order" button.

This is why I rarely preorder from online retailers anymore.
