I used to work in a toy company down in Redondo Beach, California. I was on the sculpting team and nobody ever got paid on time. Life of a blooming artist. I live north of California now and enjoy collecting various statues. I recently added Gwen Stacey to my Sideshow collection. I have to admit - I was stunned when I read she was made in China. I am sure there is toxic substances melted into her and fear the paint be full of lead. Anyway, my wish is that Sideshow starts to manufacture their statues in the U.S.A. Please bring our superheroes back home. Investing in Sideshow toy that are manufactured in China apposed to the U.S. can only mean their value is limited by the number of people wishing to purchase the awesomely designed figures. I do not think I would invest in a Chinese automobile because the cars in the Western world are known for their increase in value...all the news shows that Chinese manufacturers do not have to follow any rules; thus, the lead reference above. It is a good time to ask Sideshow if they intend to bring home our superheroes and give American artists a nod. I would gladly pay $50 more on a Sideshow statue if they manufactured it in the United States. Having had the chance of living and traveling around Asia - there is a certain irony: the American culture is the pop culture. American products tend to be sought after in Asia. A lot of the news geared toward Pop Culture in the USA is often desired and imitated. Would you pay $50.00 more per Sideshow statue if it was soli made in America? I am sure the value of each statue would sky rocket ten fold. Oh well, thank you for letting me in Sideshow Freaks.
