Hot Toys 1/6 figure Black Adam (Deluxe) + Golden Armor

For those wondering about the black vs gold suits in the movie:

When he is first released, he wears the black suit with the cloak&hood. The cloak&hood are soon disintegrated by a missile and he spends most of the rest of the movie in the black suit (without cloak or cape or anything).

Near the end of the movie, after he embraces the role of champion of Kahndaq, he now has the gold armor along with a new black cape.
For some reason, this figure includes the cloak again even though he never wore it with the gold armor, and lacks the gold armor's appropriate cape.

........... And it's not really a spoiler anymore but there's no yellow lightning either. It's blue thru whole movie so I'm a bit confused by the different options on these figures.

Shouldn’t the black and gold version have the long, Superman-style cape? I wonder if it will be added.

It definitely should and also that yellow lightning is wrong. Just sayin... No spoilers

Well, I saw the movie tonight and it didn't make me want this figure any more than I did when I saw it... I just thought it was an ok movie. His portrayal as Black Adam was good, for sure but not having Shazam in there seemed like a miss.

Biggest things to note for me were once again, pretty horrible CGI on the "big bad" of the film... not sure why the DCEU keeps doing that with their villains but someone needs to get a new SFX company involved.

Also, they went crazy heavy with the slo-mo action scene effects, to the point where it looked stupid. I was seriously like STOP IT!

Will probably still get one of these, but won't be in a rush for it. If and when Hot Toys gets to a Shazam, would love to have the pair on the shelf together.

Even worse... slow-mo with sung music. It didn't feel very badass.

No one man should have all that power... As he CG floats causing destruction like it's a video game. No power or destruction had any weight to it at all. Best showcase of this again is the jet, just takes off like it can cut through air like gravity and dynamics don't exist.

I liked this movie whenever Black Adam was doing violence and I did not like it whenever it was not that.

I thought the movie was overall pretty poor but I thought the Rock himself was fun as Black Adam, and I like the character despite the lackluster movie around him. But that goes for a lot of Rock movies in general, his entire movie career is basically being the primary source of fun in otherwise unremarkable movies. Regardless, the movie leaves me excited for the Superman/BlackAdam matchup.

My interest in the figure is almost as much for it being The Rock as it is for being Black Adam. It just seems like a fun idea to have a Rock on the shelf. And Black Adam is certainly a more interesting character for a figure than say Hobbs or Spencer.

Saw this last night and actually found it pretty enjoyable. Maybe one of the best movies starring The Rock in quite a while in my opinion.

Considering the figure now. Not sure if I’d go for the all black armor version or the black gold armor version. Kinda like the all black version.

It would also be kind of cool to have figures of both John Cena and The Rock.

I thought the 1st Act of the Movie was bad. 2nd Act was Moderate. 3rd Act was B.A. and finished well. Overall improvement could've come from a better script alone. I did laugh quite a few times though - I just shook my head at the original over-the-phone Atom Smasher.

Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate was probably the best casting. I would preorder this figure in a nanosecond, phenomenal suit/look. Aldis Hodge played Hawkman well...sometimes. The 2 youngsters, not really well at all.

CG was good to me, I agree with the others on all the slow-mo.

Black Adam is a B.A. though and I think the suit looks great so I'm good with my Golden Preorder.

It was definitely one of those movies where there were no real stakes, even the death of
Dr. Fate seemed half-hearted since the whole JSA thing was just...

Here we are, we've been here the whole time in the Snyderverse / DCEU, but nobody noticed or even cared!

Oh and here is Amanda Waller, who is in every movie and has a hand in everything, so IT'S ALL CONNECTED!!

Yeah I don't think anyone was ever born to be a 1/6 action figure more than the Rock.

Yep I'd say 1000% chance to get a Shazam from Shazam 2. If anything to keep that guy on FB from posting every week

I don’t think the new suit has a light up bolt. Not sure Hot Toys will go back and offer the old suit from the old movie but I am hopeful.

Huh I didn't even realize they had ditched the lightup symbol. Personally I'm fine without it, as it always seemed a bit distracting and unnecessary before, and the shiny gold works just as well.

I'm just glad they ditched that awful awful muscle suit he had in the first movie.

Yeah, I think this costume looks better also, I found the costume in the first movie distracting because it just looked too puffy/overstuffed

It just seems like they should have rethought the light up bolt on Black Adam’s costume if they were going to change Shazam and gangs to not have it.
