They might re-use that sculpt but we shouldn't assume they will at this stage. At least wait for confirmation before losing our minds.

She doesn't use the sword and shield this time so other than the lasso and hands there will be no accessories to speak of.

The brighter suit is nice but come on, the only incentive to upgrade is an improved sculpt. HT must know that. The film seems to have a completely different feel to the old DCEU stuff meaning that old sculpt would be really jarring.

I'll just give them the benefit of the doubt for now instead of moaning about something that might not happen.

I hope you?re right but I heard similar comments about the Justice League Superman head sculpt and unfortunately we all know how that ended up.

Wow that looks really good. Doesn't look like a dead eyed expressionless zombie like 90% of Hot Toys sculpts.

Yeah, the pain apps are amazing of course, way beyond what factories might achieve, but still... that HT aren't even trying to get a new sculpt is sad.

Looks like it. Probably with "upgraded paint apps" like the JL Superman figure

Queen Studios cost about 2k doesn't? Not sure it's a fair comparison.

Sure it is. There is no reason HT cant deliver a sculpt as good as the Queen Studios version. Queen Studios achieved a great likeness because they actually cared about what they were doing and took the time to get it right. If you dont feel that is a fair comparison then compare Hot Toys versions to some of the Prime1 Wonder Woman sculpts. Heck even the SH Figuarts sculpts look closer to Gal Gadots likeness than Hot Toys does.

I preordered the solo aquaman movie hot toys, and hoped hot toys will ship it with a different sculpt,
but it?s the dang same meh JL sculpt
So I cancelled my order.
I would have been tempted to get the JL Superman if it came with a different sculpt, but nope.

Speak with your wallet folks.
Otherwise, hot toys will have no incentive to give you better products.

Yeah reusing the same sculpt on a "new" figure-? They don't get how important and critical the HS is to a figure I guess

It's still just a teaser of an early prototype jeez! If the pre-order promo pics still have that old sculpt then fine, knock yourselves out, they deserve all the flak they get. I bet they wish they hadn't bothered showing anything now. I know HT have re-used old sculpts many times, but equally they have used them as placeholders while new sculpts are developed. Just wait for the promo pics before jumping to conclusions.

Why show a teaser at all (especially of a suit that's already been done, albeit with shinier metallic) with a prototype head if it's underwhelming? WOT (Waste of Time).

Absolutely. While people freak out with torches and pitchforks on the regular here, in this case there are some relevant precedents for it.

I'm 2 minds about this. On one hand I hope the sculpt is much improved so I may replace the JL with this release. On another hand I hope the sculpt isn't improved so I may keep the JL version and thus save money.

It blows me away how many B or C level characters have amazing sculpts (eg. Yondu from Guardians of the Galaxy 2), but they can't seem to nail A-level or main protagonist characters (WW, Superman, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, etc., etc...).
I'm not sure if it's a rush in production, or production numbers, or the artists chosen for the specific pieces... I just don't get it.
