So I just got this guy in the post. First reaction.

HOLY $#!T!?!

It's been some time since I opened a figure and was completely blown away.

Im going to shoot some pictures when I get a chance.

The detail is just incredible.

Wow.

Im really thinking about getting a second and modding to a clothed version.

Get the replacement flap and ask or pay someone to tie it for you?

Well you could super glue the string back to that one bead but that wouldn't look as clean.

The knot for the cloth is a simple tie like your shoes, so its not that difficult.

I would probably just get a really small needle and thread and see about stitching the strand back on. Im pretty sure they make bead needles for this reason.

Those are my thoughts on it. Hope that helps.

Well i removed it, the belt has a little velcro on it, i thought the string was just for show but it's velcroed and tied.

I'm sure it'll all work out.

This figure is truly a benchmark for their paint detailing, it is atonishingly good.

I'd be curious to see how a clothed version turns out. Although I have no idea where you'd find parts. In one of the deleted scenes on the BluRay set there is a part where he's gearing up to go out for the first time and you see shoes and backpacks in scale with humans. Everything is just massively proportioned

Oh it would be a full custom tailoring job.

I'd honestly wager if any follow-up figure is released from HT; a clothed version of Jake would be the likeliest. They can reuse the body, weapon and hands. Just need a new head and a large outfit and backpack.

Would be a fairly easy variant for them to pull off.

i couldn't ay no to a Neytiri or Quaritch though, Tsutay would be more of a buy than a second Jake probably

Not with Avatar. This movie was flavor of the month three years ago and is long gone now. It will get more merch love years down the line when it becomes a "classic" like the other properties you mentioned.

I'd want Nyteri but it's a miracle Jake even happened with their ridiculous delays.

I know it's wishful thinking on my part, but I'm holding out a sliver of hope that HT might surprise us at SDCC and have her on display.

I know chances of that are slim to none, but there's always a chance.

Shock and awe!!!!

In all seriousness, use caution when handling the head and areas with beads. They are amazing but only beaded thread. I pulled one loose from his head when I was removing it to gear him up. There are several on his head so it wasn't anything but there are only a few on his jock strap.

Also the big braid is amazing but be careful with snagging it on pointy things. It pulls hairs and doesn't look as clean.

It's not fragile but is intricate.

And the wrist pegs are a bit brittle so watch out for them.

Brittle may be a bit strong, but mine snapped and I was not being rough.
