Damn. Now that you see that its hard to un-see it

Yeah, the eyes look way too close together for my liking, but it’s the super skinny neck that I can’t un-see. That just really throws the whole accuracy off. Not sure what HT train of thought was there? Someone on here said that it’s maybe to give it more articulation, but you want the figures movements and articulation to mimic the character, and in threepio’s case, his movement is pretty constricted in every aspect. It’s a great looking figure, don’t get me wrong, but there’s a lot that they can hopefully tweak for the inevitable ANH or ESB release, which are the ones I’m holding out for.

It's a superb figure and sculpt for sure but I still think the head is a touch undersized and slightly too rounded. I don't have mine yet but I have used the AOTC head (which I assume is 100% the same sculpt as ROTJ version) on a custom protocol droid so have that in-hand.

Also not sure if he's a tad short because bad headsculpt aside, the SSC 3PO I thought was close to the right height for 3PO and the HT seems somewhat noticeably shorter.

Will be interesting to have mine all lined up too, though I don't have the Medicom.

The head maybe a tad underscaled alright, but not glaringly so.

The HT eyes are too close together.

And I also thought the HT is too short, but I looked at my SS 3PO and realized he's too tall. I think HT might have the height correct, at least relative to their own ANH Luke and gang.

To me the HT sculpt here looks better than the original in face & color.
If you're gonna change anything, change the original!

I was excited for this piece until I saw this pic

The eyes are so wrong; way too big, too close together, and the "pupil" is too small.

Saying all that, in comparison to the others, it's by far the best.

Interestingly, the Tamashii look awful when compared to the others...

Amazing figure, no doubt. And back in the day it was mind blowing how good it was.

But with the side-by-side comparison photos of the actual suit (and as someone mentioned earlier) it really does look too skinny and not possible for a person to be inside.

The HT have really nailed the proportions. It's just the damn face that I can't see past now

That’s the original time frame for release .. it dropped very early From HT. Retailers have no reason to change the release date this way if its shows up later they are still covered from giving refunds for cancellations because it’s in the estimated timeframe. If they were to put it for April or May for delivery and it doesn’t show till June people can cancel and get their money back this way they’re hedging their bets.

This was one of the few figures that when i first opened it up made me go WOW, very impressive.
And despite it's flaws i still think the same. It looks like Daniels in the suit.

Like most figs you'll only see the flaws if you go looking for them.

It's still one of the greatest figures ever made, and a masterpiece of engineering.

I think you need to have owned one to really appreciate how great it is.
